+39 (333) 436-5891 +1 (561) 206-4798 afortizd@unal.edu.co Ciao, I’m Andre, an Industrial Design student from Bogota – Colombia. Now living in Turin – Italy as an exchange student at Politecnico di Torino. I have always had an insatiable curiosity to know how artifacts work, and I discovered reverse engineering by take apart everything that I could. After some engineering course, which did not fulfill me, an architecture one propelled me into learning more about design. Inevitably, this led me onto a path of self-discovery into the design world.
ABOUT ME
Even though Furniture and Fashion design have led my academic projects, project design management and research are the most important tools I have been learning and applying so far. I’m a dreamer who enjoys using creativity to find solutions to everyday life problems, in order to make it simple, better and interesting. In my spare time, I like to work on side projects and enjoy reading about technology, sewing and cooking.

WORK EXPERIENCE
For a year, I worked as assistant student in the project Corredor tecnológico agroindustrial, which designs and develops tools for harvest and postharvest processes in Cundinamarca, Colombia. I worked in within different projects like packing, classification machines, washing machines, tools for onion harvest. The main activities I had to do were: Sketching, 3D modeling, rendering, preparing file for 3d printing, manuals layouts, among others.
During my stay in Turin, I had the chance to work for the project FluoBite, an innovative lifting mouth guard that is about to hit the market. Created by an Italian dentist. I was in the team in charge of making the package and exhibitor that are going to be use for selling the product inside the gyms. During the project I had to make Sketching, prototyping, 3D modeling, rendering, preparing printing file and mockups sets.

WORK EXPERIENCE
As a teenager I found myself talking in front of a microphone in one of the first internet radio station in Colombia. I started doing the master control of different shows, talking in one of them and also going to some event to interview people. It helped me to improve my speaking and communication skills.
My previous experience in an internet radio station led me to work at the first LGBT radio station in Latin America, a very ambitious project. I oversaw the recording of spots and material for the shows. I was also an active participant of different shows, and helped with the publicity staff.
After giving some private English lessons I worked in two different companies which offer language courses in my country. I had to worked with groups of six to ten people, organize weekend activities, go to a company for private classes, and some virtual lessons within the institute.
