Our Interview With Andrew Elsoer, Community Activist & Financial Advisor

Andrew Elsoer is a soccer coach, community activist, and nancial adviser based in Cleveland, Ohio. Andrew has felt most at ease on the soccer pitch for as long as he can remember. His involvement with the sport started in high school, where he was a four-year varsity participant. Andrew earned three letters in soccer, baseball, and hockey. During his senior year, his Shaker Heights Soccer Team advanced to the state nal four, a feat Andrew attributes to collaboration and determination.

2 and subsequently professionally with the Detroit Kickers (1983-1984). Andrew missed the sport after opting to concentrate on his work as a nancial adviser and started searching for opportunities to become involved again. Andrew has been coaching soccer for almost 20 years. He has coached high school, college, and club teams

In addition, he is the former President of the Orange Crush Soccer League in his hometown.

Andrew considers his work as a coach to be one of the most fullling areas of his life. During the season, at least ve evenings a week are spent on the eld. Coaching has allowed Andrew to develop a team-rst, individual-respect mentality.

Andrew works hard as an investment counselor for his customers when he’s not on the eld. He has over 25 years of business experience. Furthermore, Andrew founded and ran his own event management company in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for a decade after graduating college. He

discovered the value of neighborhood bonds while establishing a company there. As the University of Michigan Event Specialist and the Avis Center of Excellence Event Coordinator, he successfully arranged a number of high-prole connections. Andrew attributes his success as an event expert to his people-rst approach to business, ability to meet deadlines, and ability to do tasks correctly.

Question: What’s the most important thing we should know about you?

Andrew Elsoer: I live to give. I am not focused on my own successes but on how I can lift and support others in their pursuits of life success.

Question: Name the most impactful lesson you learned from failure.

Andrew Elsoer: Recovery from failure takes hard work, time, and patience. Failure is part of our character growth and necessary to drive our future accomplishments. Finally, never let failure dene you.

Question: What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Andrew Elsoer: My loyalty, devotion, and love/caring for my wife, son, and larger family My unequivocal support of my Father as a quadriplegic and my Mother in her wheelchairbound decade prior to her death in 2021. Twentythree years as a High School and Collegiate Soccer Coach.

Question: What did you waste the most time on when you were rst starting your career?

Andrew Elsoer: Not a waste of time but rather a life and business lesson as I started a Major Events/Catering Company following my graduation from the University of Michigan, which lasted seven years.

Question: Name a tool you use for work that you can’t live without.

Andrew Elsoer: My ears … a human tool that is indispensable in communicating with and understanding my clients.

Question: What is your favorite hobby and why?

Andrew Elsoer: Biking. It can be done outside and inside all year long. I prefer the outside, as a better day is always spent doing an activity in the great outdoors!

Question: What excites you the most about your industry right now?

Andrew Elsoer: I can deliver the best possible investment and nancial planning advice with opportunities to build relationships based on strong communication and trust while leveraging 30 years of industry experience.

Question: What concerns you most about your industry right now?

Andrew Elsoer: The complexity of investment vehicles and the extreme volatility of markets represent too great of a challenge for investors.

Question: What’s the greatest risk you’ve ever taken?

Andrew Elsoer: A single-track bike ride in the mountains in Telluride, Colorado … a “look out below” experience.

Question: Name one small habit that positively impacts your productivity.

Andrew Elsoer: Attention to detail reduces mistakes and promotes the positive ow of the business day and week.

Question: What tips do you have for getting a seat at the table?

Andrew Elsoer: Every aspect of life comes down to a moment in time … be present and embrace your opportunities to share a seat at the table. Life is a team experience when it is done “right,” and when you as an individual bring “good” to the team, it elevates everyone “at the table”!

Question: What book has made the biggest impact on your life?

Andrew Elsoer: Sundays with Morrie … a testimonial to how one may continue to give throughout life until the very end.

Question: Do you value intelligence or common sense more? Why?

Andrew Elsoer: Common sense has greater value for me as the capacity of the mind to understand what makes sense is the ultimate intelligence.

Question: What would you consider to be the perfect day?

Andrew Elsoer: A day spent with my wife, son, family, and friends in the great outdoors … starting with a beautiful sunrise, a day of fun activity, and festive meals ending with a peaceful sunset that reminds all of us how lucky we were to share a wonderful day!
