Andrew Katz, CPA, provides tutoring services to help individuals successfully complete the CPA exam. Established in 2020, his company, Andrew Katz Tutoring, provides preparation services for all four of the CPA exams: Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR), Regulation (REG), Auditing and Attestation (AUD), and Tax Compliance and Planning (TCP)/Business Analysis and Reporting (BAR).

Andrew Katz Tutoring Services for CPA Testing

Andrew offers candidates interested in his CPA tutoring services a 15-minute phone consultation to assess their needs and set goals. Both private and group sessions at affordable rates are available. Students typically book Andrew's tutoring services one to two weeks in advance. His services are so popular that he quickly book for the entire month.

He gets students prepared for each of the four CPA sections:

FAR Exam: Students typically cover a chapter a week over an 8 to 9-week period with Andrew in their review course. Homework is assigned daily, and it is expected that it is completed before the session. Topics include everything from consolidations to leases, cash flows, stockholders' equity, and much more

REG Exam: Preparation typically runs ten weeks and covers individual taxation, taxation of entities, property taxation, business law, ethics, and more.

AUD Exam: This is an eight- to nine-week process that covers transaction cycles, sampling, financial ratios, audit reports, audit and fraud risk, and more

BAR Exam: This is a six-week process covering Financial Management, Cost Accounting, and advanced financial accounting concepts such as Stock Compensation and Governmental Accounting.

TCP Exam: This is a six-week process covering S-Corporations, Partnerships, Basis, Stock Options, NOLs, and more.

Andrew tailors the lesson plan based on the goals achieved during that week. He and the students typically spend about 20 to 30 minutes reviewing questions about the various concepts. Then, they delve into multiple-choice questions and simulations.

Andrew's Work Experience

Andrew is a leading asset manager in the Real Estate Finance Department, covering waterfall models, capital calls, and distributions. He previously worked at Cerberus Capital Management as a Fund Accountant covering Private Equity, Corporate Credit, and Hedge Funds. He also worked at Marcum LLP in the Real Estate Auditing Group and the Forensic Litigation and Valuation Services/Transaction Services group, dealing with litigation damage support and M&A transactions. Andrew's first job was in the Transaction Advisory Services Group of PwC CMAAS, doing carve-outs and GAAP readiness projects.

A Graduate of NYU Stern School of Business

Andrew is a graduate of the New York University Stern School of Business, where he received both his bachelor's degree in accounting and finance and was Summa Cum Laude. His master's degree is in accounting. NYU Stern School ranks seven out of 124 "Best Business Schools."
