Introducing the Scripture Study Journal
For some, Bible study can feel unattainable, uncomfortable, or intimidating. The Scripture Study Journal (SSJ) study provides a simple and straightforward framework to glean valuable principles, promises, and applications from God’s Word. Its adaptable format can be used by yourself or with others.
SSJ has been developed to employ a study structure that does not require any other knowledge or background besides the Scripture passage at hand to complete. Using the acronym S.T.O.R.Y., the SSJ walks the reader through a straightforward scripture study process that can be replicated with little prior knowledge. Each study template keeps the Bible reader’s attention on the benefit that can be gained from the single passage while also increasing the Bible student's awareness of the surrounding context.

Whether you have had very little experience with the Bible or have been a reader of the Bible for years, SSJ will resource you to study God’s Word more deeply and teach you how to facilitate a study with others as well. SSJ aims to widen your access to the freeing and forgiving Word of God.
The Scripture Study Journal is a resource to bless your study through entire chapters or books of the Bible but can also be used to study an assortment of foundational and central verses in the Bible (a list of these verses can be chosen from the back of the SSJ, pg. (90).
As you engage in opening the Bible alone or in a group, may the opening of God’s Word comfort you in hardship (James 1:2-4), encourage you in trial (1 Peter 5:10), remind you of grace (Eph. 2:8, 9), strengthen you in hope (Romans 15:13), and assure you of His promises (2 Cor. 7:1). May God mature you as a disciple of Jesus and mobilize you to make disciples for Jesus through the study of His life-changing words.
May “God’s word generates life, creates faith, produces change, frightens the devil, causes miracles, heals hurts, builds character, transforms circumstances, imparts joy, overcomes adversity, defeats temptation, infuses hope, releases power, cleanses our minds, brings things into being, and guarantees our future forever!” ~ Rick Warren
