Founder of mx-it Studiolab, is graduated from the University of Architecture IUAV of Venice in 2009. From his second year of university he has worked with a variety of practices, architects and universities, gaining work experience at different architectural scales and travelling to South America, Asia and Northern Europe. He began working at Carlo Ratti Associati in February 2010. He started in January 2013 a research period at the Massachusett Institute of Technology studying innovative trends in the food-chain and the use of digital data as tools for undestanding the urban enviroment. On May first 2015, he launched the Future Food District a tematic area of 9000 sqm in Expo 2015 based on Internet of Things strategies applied to the food market. Focus of his interest is to explore possible new ways of merging technologies with Urban planning, design and place-making.
Founder of mx-it Studiolab, graduated in architecture from Western Institute of Technology and Higher Education, Mexico in 2011. Awarded in 2008 by the American Institute of Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works for her project “Guachimontones, Beyond the experts”. Jacqueline started collaborating with the local urban planning authorities of Guadalajara involving urban design projects, urban planning and political and social management; including local urban management of projects as CCD Ciudad Creativa Digital and COME Corredor Mexico. In 2013 she was assigned by CCD Foundation as the project manager of mobility and infrastructure development of the site. The same year she collaborated with MIC Mobility in Chain, Milan, developing innovative mobility strategies for urban master plans and punctual projects involving offices as Sasaki Associates and OMA. Her personal interest is to develop intelligent urban planning strategies for a smart and healthy development of society.
Founder of mx-it Studiolab, graduated in architecture from ITESM, in Mexico 2008. Completed a master of science in Sustainable Urban Planning and Design from KTH, in Stockholm 2012. Rossana collaborated at Elías Rizo Arquitectos for 2 years, starting in 2008, at the architecture studio, focused in residential and public space design. From 2012 she started working as a consultant for different urban projects, as a coordinator of the urban development area within “Ciudad Creativa Digital” project, which contemplated the urban renovation around Parque Morelos, in Guadalajara’s city center. Later, renovating 50 small businesses in Ciudad Guzman, as part of the program “Transformando el Comercio”; and as a consultant for UN-Habitat, developing Zapopan’s Strategic Planning for 2030.

BS International Relations by Universidad del Valle de México (UVM) Campus Zapopan and certified in International Trade by École Supérieur du Commerce Extérieur (ESCE). In 2012 started her career by collaborating with Jalisco’s State Government at the International Promotion / FDI office. By 2013 she was invited to join a Non-Profit Organization that aims to develop the first Smart City model for Mexico in Guadalajara. In 2014 was invited to collaborate with another NPO, IJALTI, a deployer institute for ICT public policies. Pamela is currently developing her professional skills and acquiring new knowledge through professional experience at the ICT industry with an IoT SME’s Group.
Graduated from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in 2005 with a Media and Advertising speciality. He studied in Oaxaca, Mexico in the Black and White Laboratory at Centro Fotografico Alvarez Bravo and Experimentation in Digital Techniques at Centro de las Artes in San Agustin Etla. He returned to Guadalajara to join the professional soccer team Chivas’s advertising agency, where he collaborated with the graphic design team as a creative designer. In 2008 he became part of Omnilife’s editorial team for their OM Magazine. He worked on their identity redesign, editorial structure and the photographic record of the company’s european trips. Later on, he started working as a freelance projects, and collaborated in various agencies such as Zap Design in Cully, Switzerland and Tecos in Guadalajara. Currently, aside from different projects, he is the Art Director at Estudio de Arquitectura Aha, where he manages graphics, editorials and branding.
Diana García is currently a student at the The Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. A Industrial Design student, and future graduate on 2016. Awarded in 2015 first place by Continental on the contest, Automated Driving Experience, with her project SES- Smart Emotional System. Worked as an intern during 2013 summer with CCD Ciudad Creativa Digital. Got the highest score in Continental´s project “Interfaz Física del Carro Semi Autónomo”, with her project Luxroad. During 2013 for the project Materials for Heritage she developed bricks made up 60% by denim waste. Currently working in Collaboration with Intel on the project “Vive con Ciencia 2015”. Her personal interest includes, 3d modeling, product design and creating user experience.

PLANET is a project which has been designed by professionals, experts in urban planning and smart utilities, and a project characterised by developing the Smart City concept.The smart city is now becoming more inclusive, opening up to a new target: low-medium income brackets. The Social Smart City is the ‘format’ for 4-5,000 family units, a smart city for Social Housing which actually manages to meet its strict economic parameters. The smartest solutions in Urban planning, Architecture, Infrastructure, Services, ICT and Social projects are selected and integrated.

Project Leader: mxit Studiolab Mx-It role: Research and elaboration of measuring tools to evaluate the status of the entire network of campus UdeG. Smart Campus is a preliminary research regarding the status of the entire network of campus UdeG in Jalisco. The scope is to understand the actual condition of the campus and create the strategic roadmap for architecture, infrastructures, mobility, transportation and INCLUSIVE digital policy. We createted an online app with a matrix of evaluation in order to collect data useful for the estimation of the campus. This data will create an important evaluation of each campus addressing future investments following according to a strategic plan.

Guadalajara, Mexico 2012 Client: PROMEXICO Project Leader: Carlo Ratti Associati Mx-It role: Development of the Master Plan in collaboration with Carlo Ratti Associati and link between consultants and local authorities. CCD draws on the strengths of the site – its talent, historic fabric and connections – and enhances them to achieve a new social and environmental sustainability. They are the organizing principle of CCD, integrating living, working and leisure in a human-scaled urban environment that can be changed, added to, and adapted over time. In many cases, the courtyards are open to the public, providing more intimate spaces for outdoor dining, art shows, performances, or work. In other cases they serve more private functions for businesses or local residents.

1/ Multi Module Movilidad Urbana Guadalajara, Mexico 2016 Client: Movilidad urbana Project Leader: Mx-It Mx-It role: Concept design and project management. Multi Module is the concept design for a modular and mobile office or habitative unit. The idea is to create a sustainable and low-cost system that can be organized with different layout and used as office, school, workspace or home.

Milan, Italy 2015 Client: Coop Italy Project Leader: Carlo Ratti Associati Mx-It role: Concept design and project management in collaboration with Carlo Ratti Associati. The Future Food District (FFD), a 7000 sq. m. thematic pavilion that explores how digital technology can change the way that people interact with food, unveiled at the opening of the Expo Milano 2015 “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. Designed by the Italian design firm Carlo Ratti Associati, together with the supermarket chain COOP Italia, the pavilion — lying at the heart of the exhibition grounds — explores how data could change the way that we interact with the food that we eat, informing us about its origins and characteristics and promoting a more informed consumption habits.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2014 Client: Private Project Leader: Carlo Ratti Associati and Arq. Futuro Mx-It role: Project management in collaboration with Carlo Ratti Associati. The Water Rings Pavilion is a unique structure that can float magically thanks to a unique responsive system on the water surface. The shape of the pavilion is based on the 5 olympic rings, each ring corresponding to a specific function: a swimming pool, a multifunctional auditorium, a foyer, a cafe and a learning ring. A Water Fly system will allow monitoring water conditions, collecting real-time data. The Water Rings Pavilion will draw an immersive experience at water level on the Lagoa of Rio.

1/ Smart Guide Cinvestav Guadalajara, Mexico 2015 Client: CINVESTAV Project Leader: Cinovatec Mx-It role: Project management in collaboration with Cinovatec. The system proposed in this project, Smart Guide, is a non invasive guidance system shich allows visually impaired people to navigate into the physical space and to implement their interactions. The system consists of a HW infrastructure shaped lenses that collects data by different sensors and are transmitted to the SW by wire and wireless can develop and transform on user feedback. The system can also count in connection with a online social network dedicated volunteers and others users.

Milan, Italy 2015 Client: EXPO Milan and Coop Italy Project Leader: Carlo Ratti Associati Mx-It role: Project management in collaboration with Carlo Ratti Associati. The Future Food District, one of EXPO’s 2015 thematic areas, features the world’s largest vertical plotter which transforms the pavilion façade into a huge open source canvas. The Vertical Plotter is a device travelling on a vertical wall. Its interactive software allows the real time reproduction of any kind of data and feeds: notes, messages, pictures, graphics. Once the machine has received the digital information, the plotter immediately turns it into reality. On Monday, October 5th 2015 the graphics designed by the Vertical Plotter has achieved the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title “The largest plotted image”.

3/ Makr Shakr Robotic Bar

Boston, USA 2013 Client: Private Project Leader: MIT Senseable City Lab Mx-It role: Project management in collaboration with Carlo Ratti Associati. Makr Shakr is a robotic bartending system that allows users to create, in real-time, personalized cocktail recipes through a smart phone application and transform them into crowd-sourced drink combinations. The cocktail creation is assembled by three robotic arms, whose movements – visualized on a large display positioned behind the bar – mimic the actions of a bartender, from the shaking of a martini to the thin slicing of a lemon garnish. The system explores the new dynamics of social creation and consumption – ‘design, make and enjoy’ – and in just the time needed to prepare a new cocktail.
