Welcome to SE22

There have been a few changes since my last issue, mainly the reopening of non-essential shops. This is fabulous news for the local community and it is great to see more of our shopkeepers back in business. Last month local photographer Julia Hamilton took a fantastic selection of photos of shopkeepers who remained open during the lockdown. See part two of her series on pages 25, 25 & 27. Did you know we have a golf club in East Dulwich? Aquarius Golf Club is one of East Dulwich’s hidden gems. New lady captain Fiona Nott shares her experiences since joining the club on page 6. Local charity Link Age Southwark has launched a brand new project Bloomin’ Lovely, with the aim of bringing colour and nature back to the lives of older people in Southwark, but they need your help to make it happen. See page 29 for more. The Last Word goes to Tarik who runs High Vibe on Melbourne Grove. Read about his tribe and favourite East Dulwich haunts on page 32. We all know how important it is to shop local, but I am going to say it again! Please do consider all the wonderful people who work hard all year round to keep the independent spirit of East Dulwich alive. Where you can, please do support them by shopping locally.
