Musi Rawas, South Sumatra YEAR
2021
ninggali resort
Ninggali Resort is a mountain resort located in North Musi Rawas, South Sumatra. Ninggali is designed based on the site and local natural recourses. In local language, Ninggali means 'see' or 'to see', here to showcase what the local has to the world, from its culture to its incredible views.
North Musi Rawas, South Sumatra near Bukit Barsan Mountain -2.7061° S & 102.7632° E It takes its name from the two main rivers which stream that area, Musi River and Rawas River.

LOBBY
Design Concept Taking inspiration from the mountain and its elements, the lobby is created to welcome the guest. From Bukit Barisan Mountain, Musi River flows from southwest to northeast, making it one of South Sumatra's icons. The entrance to the lobby is created with a warm ambiance to welcome the guest. The guest will be greeted with a cool breeze and mesmerizing view of the mountain, accompanied with sounds of the waterfall and traditional musical instruments.

Reception Area Bukit Barisan Mountain is created of many hills, mountains, and sloped areas, making it seems like they are overlapping with each other. This becomes the inspiration for the partition. The backdrop of the receptionist is a partition highlighted in front of the stone backdrop. The lamp acts as a focal point, made of wire mesh to mimic the fog on the mountain.

RESTAURANT
Design Concept The Restaurant took inspiration from the rawness and the texture the mountain has, meanwhile, the lamp on top of the banquette seat forms a triangle, combined with the texture from the wall behind forms a roof shape of the local houses. The dining hall is designed with locally sourced wood and stones. The ceiling allows sunlight to get inside, creating a play of light and shadow with an absence of a physical wall to erase the feeling of being 'inside' a room.

BAR
Design Concept The bar took inspiration from Milky Stork (Burung Bangau Bluwok), an endangered species that come to South Sumatra to breed. They look for their food on wet surfaces such as a river, swamp, or lake. The roof structure is inspired by the feet of the Milky Stork that is thin and light, using bamboo as the structure. The bar has access to get a direct view of the sunrise, making it feel exclusive because it can only takes up to 8 people for the indoor seating area.

public space PROJECT TITLE
Cosmoflip PROJECT BRIEF
To design a public space complete with its concept LOCATION
Dago Coblong, Bandung YEAR
2021 AREA
2261 m2
cosmoflip BACKGROUND STORY Shopping second-hand has been around for a long time, but in these past few years, Indonesia has been catching up to this trend. While in other countries thrifted items have their own store, most of the thrifted items here are being sold on a traditional market or online platforms. Creating a place to accommodate this growing community becomes the objective of this project.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION More than a thrift shop, this conceptual project is a community place for thrift enthusiasts to meet and gather. They could shop and look around thrift items in comfortable surroundings. Here, they could spend time talking and playing with friends, shopping, watch movies, and participate in bidding events.
Dago Coblong, Bandung -6.88° S & 107.62° E Key urban expansions of Bandung during the early 20th century. It covers the Dago area with the ITB university campus and many cafés and restaurants, as well as the former colonial government center of Gedung Sate.
Y
Public Space - Cosmoflip - 2021
Design Concept The building is designed based on the location and the items being sold. Bandung is quite well-known for having many antique shops and historic buildings, while second-hand items are diverse, coming from many eras with a different styles. By combining and taking the silver lining of urban lifestyle, Cosmoflip adapted post-modern neo-eclectic style with retro detailing.

Comm Area
cosmo Cosmo means 'world' or dunia, combined with 'flip' -borrowed from a term, 'thrift flip', which means not just buying and wearing used items but reworking them in novel ways for an audience. There are several areas in this 2261 m2 space, including community area, store, books & vinyl area, furniture display, arcade games, diner, and mini cinema. The store sells reworked and refinished items donated by the people. They also organize a bidding event once a month that took place in the cinema. Before the time is up, the items will be put on display and act as a mini gallery.

The diner is modified into the post-modern style, with a touch of wood and a toned-down color palette.
Considering that it will be more comfortable for the guest to listen to records and read books in a quieter area, this section is made to be more secluded.
Books & Vinyl Area
Cinema The cinema plays both national and international films that are currently not being aired at the conventional cinema. The space is used to hold a bidding event once a month.

Contemporary Coffee Shop PROJECT BRIEF
To design a coffee shop with contemporary style YEAR
2021 AREA
95,7 m2
Design Concept Contemporary design doesn't refer to a specific period of time —it's constantly evolving to reflect the popular styles of present day design. This project took inspiration from Indonesia's tropical elements and materials. This coffee shop combines 'old' elements such as Tegel tiles and rattan with more modern material, concrete, and metal. Greeneries are also present, along with wooden bird sculptures as elements of tropical vibes inside the room.

CLIENT'S PROFILE Raditya Dika was born in Indonesia on 28th December 1984. He is a stand-up comedian and content creator. Radit had spent his childhood in Japan with his mother which influenced him up until today. He adapted the Japanese style of minimalism into his everyday life, moreover in these last few years. He prioritized quality over quantity and prefers to keep his place clean. He is also an introvert, who likes to spend time at home.
Design Concept Japandi design is the combination of Scandinavian functionality and Japanese rustic minimalism to create a feeling of art, nature, and simplicity. This fusion creates the perfect blend of function and form, minimalistic designs that are aesthetically pleasing yet highly functional.
Wabi-sabi & Hygge Wabi-sabi (the essence of Japanese design) is the view or thought of finding beauty in every aspect of imperfection in nature. It is about the aesthetic of things in existence, that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete”. Hygge is a Danish concept that is used to describe a moment or feeling that is cozy, special, or charming. This two contrasting principle has something in common, making the harmony between them becomes charming.
