BEAUTIFUL RAFJAM BED AND BREAKFAST GET A COZY BED AND BREAKFAST IN A RELAXED FAMILY ATMOSPHERE. Deep in the valleys of the Blue Mountains, Rafjam Bed and Breakfast offers an authentic, local Jamaican experience like none other. Rafjam is located up the B1 highway from Papine in Kingston. After about a 30 minute drive and arrival to the town of Red Light, turn right on Hopewell Road and drive all the way down the culde-sac. Nestled between two rivers, the guest accommodations are perched high above the natural scenery: the cascading river in our backyard or the fleeting glimpse of a hummingbird sipping rain water from the petals of a heliconia.

The climate in the mountains drifts from sun to cloud all day, with scattered rain. Rafjam offers an ideal spot to soak in the soothing Jamaican sun while not getting scorched along the way. You can always jump into one of the many freshwater pools on the property to cool off, or climb up to the 15 foot waterfall just five minutes away.

Rafjam’s kitchen serves a variety of delectable Jamaican and international cuisines. Our team includes world renowned chefs who evoke their Caribbean, North and South American, and European palates with their culinary creations.

3 PLACES TO VISIT IF YOU EVER VISIT JAMAICA Ocho Rios Jamaica has many attractions that one should visit when visiting Jamaica. The beautiful scenery filled with adventure and excitement. In this edition I will be featuring Mystic Mountain, Konoko Falls and Blue Hole. If you are packed for adventure and a bit of heart pumping exercises these are the places you should visit. Having a cool and relaxed time is also part of the package especially at Konoko Falls.

UNLEASH THE ADVENTURER WITHIN MYSTIC MOUNTAIN Mystic Mountain, this beautiful Mountain scenery is filled with adventures and activities for the entire family. On arriving at the property the atmosphere is cool, calming and relaxing... A breath of fresh air... Rivers run through this property as you enter the car park. The sound of the river relaxes you as you make your way to fun and excitement. There are different packages to choose from, you can go from zip lining over the trees to bobsledding through the trees. The first ride to the adventures of a life time is called the Sky Explorer Tour. It takes around 15-20 minutes and you are approximately 700 feet over the Rain forest.The view is heavenly, it might get a little hot so walk with your sunscreen, a bottle of water and enjoy the view. Once you arrive at the top there are gift shops and friendly smiles greeting you. The tour guides ensure that you have fun while doing so safely. All activities are guided with safety instructions that should be followed accordingly.

Wanting that amazing adrenaline feel, well take a ride across the rain forest on the canopy zip line or the Mystic Mountain Zip line tour. This is only for the brave at heart. I highly recommend trying the Bobsled as well but be careful of incoming carts, try to go as fast as possible until the guides say when to slow down. Who doesn't want action and adventure in their life? Now saddle up and get ready to experience the ride of your life. Mystic Mountain should definitely be on your bucket list if you ever visit Jamaica and I highly recommend that you do.

BREATHE EASY AND UNWIND

Konoko Falls has a breathtaking landscape that you will all love. The scenery surpasses what one would think when you hear falls. The nature walk will have you relaxed and forgetting about your worldly problems, interaction with the animals will bring out your inner child. Enjoy Lunch and head on down the many steps to the falls.

Upon arriving at the falls you will notice that it is surrounded by plant life. Start your climb from the very bottom and you will notice that there are many pools that you can stop at and enjoy the cool water. Try getting a massage from the falling water, simply relaxing and joyous. Konoko Falls is great to unwind and enjoy the company of family, friends and that special someone

A Guide to Blue Hole 1. SAFETY Always listen to the guides on duty, a safe journey means a day filled with excitment! 2. IF YOU CAN'T SWIM WEAR YOUR SAFETY VEST Don't just jump in, I know the water is extremely inviting, but its more than 25 feet deep so be prepared. 3. WATCH YOUR STEP The clay ground makes it very slippery, wear swim shoes or just take your time when moving about the grounds. 4. ENJOY THE WALK The walk to the jump off spots is not as short as one would think, take a bottle of water and enjoy the journey.... ADVENTURE AWAITS! 5. TAKE THOSE MEMORY SHOTS! Not only is the surroundings beautiful but be sure to take back some fond memories with you. Meet new friends along the way and have fun, because that is what life is ment to be. 6. JUMP, SPLASH AND HAVE FUN! The JUMP can be heart pumping but once you do it you will want to do it over and over again. There are underground caves where you can swim to and enjoy a relaxing mud mask. Blue Hole has a lot to offer.

In this issue of TRAVJAM I will be featuring an up coming entrepreneur who has a taste for fruit wines, all sorts of fruits, not just your regular fruit wines. Imagine Mango wines, watermelon wines and the list goes on.

Genie Wines is a newly formed wine business in the making with the hopes of providing a flare to traditional wines using Jamaican fruits and vegetables.

This business came into existence when a student from the noble institution of Bethlehem Moravian College and most recently Excelsior Community College studying Hospitality and Tourism Management with a major in Food and Beverage, developed a passion for wine making and wine production.
