Join a short residential leisure course for the weekend of 27 February – 1 March 2015, and expand your skills and knowledge with leading tutors, meet like-minded people, make new friends and enjoy excellent home-made cuisine. Courses start with arrival 5-6:30pm on the Friday followed by dinner, and run through to afternoon tea at 4pm on Sunday. Courses are £325 inclusive of tuition, full board and lodging, single occupancy of an en suite room and on-site facilities such as free wifi. Hillscourt is close to the M5 and M42 and near Longbridge Station with direct access to Central Birmingham.

Calligraphy is an enjoyable and wideranging pastime, whether pure craft pen lettering or creative artwork. This course is for beginners and experts alike. Beginners will learn an alphabet for writing short quotations, while more experienced participants will finely tune scripts as they explore various lay-outs and designs on coloured backgrounds.
In this experimental workshop you can try your hand at a wide range of textile techniques, exploring your own preferences as you choose from a menu of art quilts, image transfer, embellishers and free machine embroidery.
This course offers an opportunity to explore key techniques associated with Silk Painting - watercolour effects, salt patterning and gutta resist designs. There is no need to be able to draw, just have an interest in exploring the magical qualities of vibrant colour and design when painting on silk.
Here is your opportunity to discover how to capture the beauty of flowers in your paintings. All aspects of illustration will be explained and you will learn how to get the most from your materials, including mixing and colour application.
