WHEREAS, the 4th of July celebration in the Lake Erie Beach/Point Breeze area brings several thousand people to this community to honor our nation’s birth; and

WHEREAS, the public safety responsibility for those people enjoying the celebration, those people residing in this celebration area, and the people who will transverse this area, are a responsibility that is best served through the following road closures;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Evans hereby authorizes the closing of Kennedy Avenue and Eisenhower Avenue from Lake Shore Road to Quebec Street, the closing of Eastwood Avenue from Lake Shore Road to Northfield Street, the closing of Northfield Street from Eastwood Avenue to Kennedy Ave, the closing of Garfield Avenue from Lake Shore Road to Oakland Street and the closing of Oakland Street from Garfield Ave to Kennedy Ave, for the purpose of providing public safety to all participants, residents, and traffic beginning at 7pm on the 3rd of July, in addition to all other public safety measures as set forth under the Code of the Town of Evans; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that there will be no vehicles allowed in Lake Erie Beach Park beginning at 4am July 3rd through 7am July 4th; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT THE Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish this resolution in the Angola Pennysaver and the Dunkirk Observer, the official paper of the Town of Evans.

Linda Lee Rammacher - Owens
Linda Lee Rammacher - Owens, 55, passed away on June 21 at home in Sheridan, NY, surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her two sons, Derrek (Naomi Weise) Owens and Bradley (Kyleigh Kaczor) Owens. She was the proud grandmother of Sebastian Owens, Scarlett WeiseOwens and Greyson Owens. She was the loving sister to four brothers: Dennis, Richard, John and Dan Rammacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Paul & Patricia Ann Rammacher. She was employed by WNYDDSO for 33 years. Linda enjoyed life to the fullest and had a heart of gold. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and caring ways. Don was a retired History teacher from Lake Shore Central, Angola, NY. His camp in the ADR mountains was a refuge where he would pursue his love of hunting, fishing, canoeing and sitting by the fireside with a beloved dog. Weston James Ferro of Lake View, NY, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, was named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2023 semester at Clarkson University. Dean's List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.
