Greetings,

Another year rolls on with its own set of challenges. Farmers continue to show resilience in the face of challenges from all angles; political, compliance, water, carbon idealism and weather to name a few. All we can do is keep going, hoping common sense prevails, making our businesses more resilient where we can - genetics being one of those opportunities to do so.

This year we have a great line-up of bulls offering the progressive beef farmer enhanced genetics that meet the requirements of today’s premium beef programs, farmed in a way that puts selective pressure on maternal traits and fertility. These animals really are outstanding in their performance potential. The average birth weight is 4.8 against the average 600 day weight of 127 and the average IMF is 2.3. In terms of bulls available in New Zealand, if you want performance data, these bulls are in the top bracket. John has recently come back from the US looking at bulls. He is as you would expect, very excited about the bulls they saw. We will continue to use AI from US, Australia and New Zealand bulls but also use more of our own, as the best of our own bulls become class leaders in their own respect.
