VIDA MODERN TAQUERIA in Redondo Beach

Located blocks from the beach in Redondo’s Riviera Village, VIDA Modern Taqueria, created by Mickey Mance (Mickey’s Italian Deli) and Justin Essman (formerly with Baja Sharkeez Restaurant Group), is the new foodie hot spot in L.A.’s South Bay. The restauranteurs, who explored a variety of flavors and dining concepts in Mexico prior to producing their menu line-up, have recreated the authentic street-food experiences they enjoyed during their travels. They offer their favorite finds on VIDA’s tasty menu, which features appetizers and entrees that include 16 types of tacos made with homemade, hand-pressed tortillas.

Taco selections include Lobster Tail, Grilled Octopus, Wild Mexican White Shrimp, Cinnamon Carnitas Taco Crispy, Alaskan Wild Cod and more. Vegan taco choices, such as the Tempura Cactus Tacos and Mushroom Taco, are also available. Starters include Esquite, roasted corn off the cobb with chipotle sauce, lime crema, diced avocado and cotija cheese, as well as Queso Fundido, Sopes and more. There are three types of Ceviche and an array of

traditional Mexican side dishes. Salads, bowls and entrees are also offered with prices that are just as pleasing as the meals.

VIDA also features a lively bar with a creative Sabe-based craft cocktail program. The list includes the El Pistolero, hibiscus infused sabe alternative tequila, lime juice and cranberry/chile de arbol syrup with a cheyanne/sugar rim, as well as The Nuts and Bolts, Hot Summer Girl, and Max’s Marg. There are two fruit-infused sangrias, a white and a red. A variety of wines and craft beers are also included on the drink menu.

The Baja-inspired taqueria, which officially opened October 12th, 2021, features a contemporary décor, appointed with natural wood tones, stones, and bright pastel wall murals. The retractable garage door opens to the sidewalk and outdoor seating area, which provides an airy setting for a pleasurably dining experience.
