DON’T THINK, JUST shoot!
Foreword
First shoot in taipei, taiwan, 2007 The first time I learned about Lomo was in 2007, during the summer time. I took over the Lomo LCA from a friend and I was very confused about the usage of the camera. Completely clueless about negative film and the handling of film camera. After loading the 35mm film into the camera, I was so unsure that I even had to bring the camera to a camera store for a brief check. I was an amateur and really clumsy. However, there is absolute no definition of “professional skills” with Lomography. You don’t have to have in-depth knowledge about aperture, shutter and lighting etc., the only thing you have to do is just click the bottom without hesitation. No need second thought, don’t think, And you can bring it to everywhere along with you. Then here comes the result, which is also one of my favourite part. The complete surprise, like unboxing your christmas present with unexpected outcome. This is the reason why I’m deep in love with Lomography.

aphy A Lomograph holds a charm all of its own. Somehow, everything is amplified, making ordinary objects stand out, enhancing details that would normally go unnoticed. Characterised by ever-changing variables such as the mysterious vignettes that frame the shot, light leaks, lo-fi grain, beautiful blurs, the magical balance of contrast and saturation....just to name a few.
03
The Lomographic Society was formed in 1992 and maintains a strong community following through the internet. They have worked with Light for the World to raise money for vision care in Kenya, and with the International Red Cross for famine relief in East Africa. The online community allows the sharing of images and techniques, and celebrity lomographic camera owners include Elijah Wood, Neil Gaiman and The White Stripes.

As a Lomographer, you are not only photographing a situation, you are an essential part of the situation itself.

LOMO LC-A
In 2005, production of the original Lomo LC-A was discontinued. Its replacement, the LC-A+, was introduced in 2006 and production moved to China. The LC-A+ featured the original LC-A lens manufactured by LOMO in Russia. This changed in 2007 and lenses on subsequent models have been made in China. Some LC-As were sold badged as Zenith, this label was only a sticker underneath the lens.
