I apply Japanese elements which are not too obvious but it works with the design. And Japanese gate is one of the signature images in their culture.

SNEAKER ROOM
It includes transparent shelf with polkadots pattern. There are three different sizes of box with different height to create a random feel in organization.
10
The shelves are organized in the shape of heart. There is a mirror on the ceiling to make the heart shape visible for the users.
CASHIER
There is the Japanese gate with a modern twist right behind the cash wrap to reprent the route of the brand. The cash wrap is made out of steel and glass.
The mirror at the back blocks where the customers can’t go and at the same time, create a modern feel to the space. The lighting is uesd to draw the attention from the customers right at the entrance.

NEW ITEMS & BASIC ITEMS
This us where most the merchandise is going to be placed. The clothing has simple color palette so I chose the transparent shelves with polka dots to be at the background. Also, these shelves are a signature look to this clothing line.

Everything is in black and white, from the floor to the wall, to the ceiling. There are some boxes at 3 feet high for sneakers and accessories.
RUNWAY / MIX OUTFITS
The runway is the focal point of the space. It has black base to differenciate from other spaces and the runway itself is white. It is used as a space for customer to look at how they look with the clothes they choose. There are 3 fitting rooms right behind the mirror. Customers can get help by the stylist behind the runway
For special events, this can be turned into a real runway. The viewers can be on both sides of the runway. The lightings are unique and eye-catching. The runway can be seen from the outside through the curtain walls.

This is a fashion school for Comme Des Garcon. Applying brand’s values, this school is different from normal schools by how unique each room looks. There is no longer square rooms with standard organizations for the furnitures. However, I still want clean looks with some twist of youthfulness.

WORKSHOP
HEADQUATER: TOKYO, JAPAN The PLAY line launched in 2002 described by the label as “a sign, a symbol, a feeling”. The nowiconic logo was designed by artist Polish artist Filip Pagowski, who first contacted Rei Kawakubo in the 1980s with pictures of a performance/fashion show. The heart image happened simultaneously with, but independently of the creation of the PLAY line. Designed by Rei Kawakubo, PLAY isn’t tied to a particular season and includes graphic T-shirts, knits and accessories. Making use of a simple colour palette, the pieces use Pagowski’s logo in various ways – from applique patches positioned on the left of the chest to multiple collage arrangements.

DESIGN STATEMENT Our concept is to celebrate the spirit of the common. Hence, we create an axis to connect the two major elements - the gazebo and the monument, and at the same time, enhance gathering points. The first gathering point is sunken, which is place near the gazebo. We also made ramps for everyone to be able to access. This gathering point is more intimate due to the level change and the trees surrounding it that we add in. The second gathering point is at the end of the site. As we observe, right now the end is unused, therefore, we want to expand the area of the common. This gathering point is more open, which is at normal level. Both gathering points are provided with curved benches with wood top and brick base. We believe the gatherings points should be developed as to serve the purpose of a common. Another thing we looked at is the main entrance. We want to make it more noticeable to invite people to come in and use the common. That is why we add in a canopy that follows an organic aesthetic. This also light up at night. We also put in a water feature that inform the axis, at the same time, create a balance in nature. As a way to remind how important water is to the kids, the students, and the people. Also, water is a part of landscape and water feature is easy to install and maintain. According to the people in Norton, the common is usually used for big events and especially, the march. The march can stop at the first gathering point at the gazebo. Then move up along the sides of the water feature by the ramps and stop again in front of the monument. In conclusion, our idea is to create a common for everyone in Norton and bring the people throughout the whole site.
