Anh Tran [Alex] Nationality // Vietnamese Address // Sydney NSW Australia Mobile // 0406 832 601 Email // anhtran.891@gmail.com Linkedin // linkedin.com/in/tuan-anh-tran/ // In my opinion, every architecture has its own story and that story is always based on the project initial data which are human demand, context, culture and environment. The building should be appropriated or have a good conversation with its vicinity. Thus, every design in this portfolio is my answer for a suitable proposal for every different project. They have marked the beginning steps in my career as I am always excited and wishing to observe my own design being reality in the future. //

// This studio was dedicated to furthering the techniques and concepts of computational design in architecture. In particular, the studio sought to dispel the conventional wisdom that serious formal investigation and serious programmatic investigation are mutually exclusive. //

8

9

// The proposal is organised based on the various types and speeds of motion. The roof is structured by a truss system, which is coded and tailored with various configurations and scales to match the distinct character of vehicle or motion type below. All service functions are occur within the waiting room as a transformation of skylight element, which is formed exceptional by inhabiting the truss where it touches down. The roof form and structure works as a primary wayfinding and spatial element of the station architecture. //

// The design tectonics employed the technique of Python coding to define and develop sufficient geometry of the truss cell for different spaces. The truss system is configurated and scaled to emphasise directions, speed and type of vehicles, and people circulations. //

// It is a powerful of motion and still, people and trains, structure and light. The project resolve the many complex/competing elements of a transport hub, as well as meeting the programmatic demands of a transport interchange. The ambition for an iconic station led to the roof geometry and structural variation, which were generated to let the wayfinding more friendly for people. //

Resonance Chambers // Nuremberg Concert Hall 2018 // UTS // masters architectural design studio REVIT - RHINO - GRASSHOPPER tutor.Dr Tim Schork

// The studio sustains that innovations in architecture and transformations in its practices are closely linked to technological change, advances in materials and practices of representation and making. Developments in computational design methods, simulation and computer-controlled fabrication techniques have opened up new possibilities and narrowed the gap between what can be designed and what can be constructed. //

19

// Designed as an addition to the ensemble of the Meistersingerhalle, the proposal engages the existing infrastructure and context to create a connection between the present landscape and public space. The combination of the existing building and the new exterior envelope provide “a charming veil that engages the surrounding landscape on all sides. It combines architecture, program and urban development into a specific entity, suitable only to this particular location. //

D a N a n g I n t e r n a t i o n a l A i r p o r t Te r m i n a l 2014 // UAH // bachelors graduation project REVIT - 3Ds MAX // The proposal is defined by its unique landscape; with long-curved coast, high mountains, and rapidly changing weather. Da Nang Airport had to adopt the feel of the region’s landscape and in itself become an interesting part of the journey. The idea of flight meeting the shape of the local landscape resulted in the concept of folding roof. //

24

// The new terminal houses all service facilities and is used for international flights, while the old terminal serves domestic traffic. The new terminal includes: A new pier composed of eight gates designated for international travel, separated arrival and departure levels, eight security lanes for departing passengers, large commercial areas, modular concept allows for easy future expansion. //

25

// A bright, harmonious and double height space connects the arrival and departure halls. The arrival hall is characterised by four dominant design elements: the hanging veil of the structural glass facade, the grand steel columns of the support structure and the dramatic entrance bridges spanning over the space. //

// The departure hall is the architectural centrepiece of the terminal. The identity of the room is defined by the folded ceiling connecting the central building and the pier. Welcoming arriving passengers, this canopy starts outside the building and passes through the minimalistic glass facade, giving the interior of the terminal a warm glow. The direction of the building’s main structure, emphasised by majestic skylights, lead travellers towards the entrance to security control. //

It aims to deliver contemporary minimalist architecture which minimizes environmental impacts, takes advantage of the site’s unique attributes, responds to the verticality of the forest in which it is embedded and creates a sense of lightness and delicacy which is appropriate to the bushland setting; and no, or minimal, visual impacts from public roads and neighbours’ dwellings. //
