Animations for 2D Games  Animations attract the audience very much, and that’s

why animators have to keep up with the latest courses and to create more sophisticated and more real projects in a short time.

 We decided to present you some tips and tricks that

can help you to make great animations for the 2D games.

ď‚— Here are 7 Tips and Tricks that will help you in the

process of animation.

1. Plan ď‚— You should know accurately what you have to do

before starting the animation. So before starting animated, you should:

1. Take notes and write what exact movements of the character. 2. Imagine how the scene will play out and write down all interesting things.

3. Draw some thumbnails and figure out the character’s gestures, and last but not the least thing about the timing, how much time each section will take to happen.  If you follow this steps, you will transform the concept

into the scenario, and then you can give life to your imagination.

2. Push the Animations to Limit  For more interesting animations you should use the

extremes exaggeration, attraction, etc., think of other’s people reaction and take them to the limit.

 If animations use the realistic expressions and

movements, they don't succeed because people are familiar with those gestures and they are not impressed.

ď‚— Extreme animations draw the attention of the

audience and surely will have more success.

3. Make all More Alive and Bouncy ď‚— When the animating you have to be careful at the

character, not to look rigid.

ď‚— Even if is a simple animation you should do more and

always keep the character moving.

ď‚— Also, you have to add bounce to the character, move

their fists, their knees, make breathing sprites that give the impression that character is alive and real.

4. Pay Attention to Facial Motion ď‚— Your character must express the natural emotion and

view the emotion in animation you should be careful with the facial motion.

ď‚— Analyze the movement of the face, observe the

gestures and you will be able to communicate an emotion only by the movement of the face.

ď‚— For example, you can make a character crying by

animating a lip waving or if you want to animate the character who wants to avoid laughing you can do it by pressing its face tightly.

5. Create Strong Key frames ď‚— When animating the sprites, it is necessary to have

strong and extreme key frames to highlight the particular movement.

ď‚— For a great animation, you must be careful at sprites to

be all in order, not to have an arm inside the torso area, etc.

6. Limit Animation’s Frames  Animators may sometimes exaggerate with key frames,

and they tend to add too many because they think it will have a more impact on the animation.

ď‚— But this is not always a good thing, and you have to

limit the number of frames and highlight the important movements.

7. Don’t Care Too Much About the Craf  On 2D games(Gaming Designing), animators can care

too much about the craft, particular details and lose sight of the content.

 You should give more attention to the whole image, to

take care it transmit the wanted message to the viewers.
