Multimedia Artists and Animators •
Multimedia artists and animators are responsible for creating animation and visual effects moving image for movie, television, games and other media.
• They create 2D and 3D models and animation.
Duties of Multimedia Artists and Animators • Multimedia artists and animators generally do the following: • Create animation and animation using computer software and illustrations. • Work with a team of animators to create a movie, game, or visual effect (VFX).
• Develop storyboards that map out key scenes in animations. • Edit animations and effects based on feedback from directors, other animators or game designers. • Meet with clients and other animators, games designers, directors, and other staff to review deadlines and development timelines.
Multimedia Artist and Animator Do? • Multimedia artists and animators work in a specific medium. • Some animator work in animation movies and video game creation field. • Other visual effects artists for television shows and movies.
• Creating the computer-generated images may include taking images of an actor's movements which are then animated into 3D characters. • Other animators design view or backgrounds for locations. • Animators and artists can specialize in these fields.
• Within animated movie and video games, artists often specialize in characters or scenery and background design. • Video game focus on creating the look, feel and layout for the levels of a video game. • Animators work in a team to develop a movie, visual effect, or an electronic game.
Education and Training • Most multimedia artists and animators need a professional certified course or degree in computer graphics, art or a related profession to develop both an impressive portfolio of work and the powerful technical skills that many employers prefer.
