The brief of the project was to design a martyr’s memorial in Umm Al Quwain to pay tribute to the UAE soldiers whose lives were lost in the 2015 “Operation Restoring Hope” in Yemen. UAE has since then marked November 30th as Commemoration Day or Martyr’s Day to recognize the sacrifices and dedication of Emirati martyrs who have given their life in the UAE and abroad in the field of civil, military and humanitarian service. 8
The monument is composed of two elements, the sword and shield. The sword is a symbol of heroism and victory and the shield a symbol of strength. The memorial is 33 meters high and cladded with uniquely shaped and sized GRP panels. The monument sits in the center of a roundabout right across the dewan of the emir of Umm Al Quwain.

A G+4 commercial and residential building in Naif, Dubai, in a very dense population. The plot sits along a road and a narrow sikka. Adjacent buildings border the plot on the other sides. As per the client’s requirement, the building was to have retail at the grade level and studio apartments on the typical floors. Falling under the heritage zone, the elevation design was to follow standards of the architectural heritage department at the Dubai municipality. With a plot size of 158 sqm, the main challege of this project was to meet the needs of the client as well as meet the minimum standard requirement of spatial planning by DM.

Project: Contemporary Villa Built up area: 490 sqm Location: Al Barsha, Dubai Budget: AED 1.8 million The brief was to design a contemporary 4 bedroom minimal villa with a majlis and a maid’s room in Al Barsha, Dubai. The common spaces were to have minimal or movable partitions allowing the expansion of spaces. The organizing of the spaces is such that the common semiprivate spaces are located at the front of the house and the private spaces to the back. To the right of the entrance is the majlis and to the left is the double height living room that connects to the dining room through foldable doors. Going past the majlis and living room is the store, laundry and maids room on the right. On the left is the staircase and kitchen. On the first floor, the 4 bedrooms are on either corners having views to the back and the front. The central common area features a built in bookshelf in a lounge that looks down at the living room. Project: Contemporary Villa Built up area: 506 sqm Location: Al Barsha, Dubai Budget: AED 2 million A one-story 4 bedroom villa for Nad Al Sheba, Dubai. The u-shaped arrangement surrounds a courtyard that opens to the pool. Folding glass doors allow the expansion of the living room to an outdoor living area in the courtyard. Common spaces take up the frontal of the house. The roof of the house cantilevers in all direction partially shading the exterior windows. Overall, the design has a minimal approach to it with maximum transparency provided where possible.

Located on Jumeirah Beach, the hotel fills the gap between luxury and basic hotels. One of the main objective of the project is to design the building in a way that it allows for expansion to the left of the site. Inspired by the docks, the modular layout allows for easy expansion. Keeping in mind the climate and weather, glass has been used to create the feeling of transparency.

The project is based on an urban mixed development designed over a 400,00 sqm plot located in Jaddaf, Business Bay, Dubai. This project was developed in 2 phases: Phase 1: Developing a Masterplan. Being an urban housing development, the project hosts a variety of buildings such as commercial towers, mall, educational, healthcare and recreational. Advantage of the metro station has been taken by placing the public spaces adjacent to it. Running across the development, the lake forms a visual division between the semi-private, public and private zones.

PROPOSED MASTERPLAN
Phase 2: Designing a Signature Villa. Located on one of the signature villa plots, the building has a linear plan arrangement that maintains privacy. Along the street, exposure to the outside is minimal. Whereas along the lake, the facade opens up providing expansive views to the lake and park.
