GLOBAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: INTRODUCTION

A Global Community Development Programme (GCDP) experience is an opportunity for young people to develop entrepreneurial and responsible leadership by creating direct positive impact through an international volunteer experience.


GLOBAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: QUALITIES Duration: Short term internship (6-8 weeks)

ECOEXCHANGE Introduc.on •  Environmental crisis has become more and more widespread everywhere around the world. We face with natural disaster, flood, drought, ozone layer depleUon. According to the research, most of which are caused due to human acUviUes which have jeopardized our Environment. Isn’t it about Ume that we need to make some change or do something about it? Together, we answer “Yes, it is” to that quesUon. By Understand the case, we created this project in hope of restoring our earth back to its stability state. •  Like other projects which were run by AIESEC, this is part of internship program which allows undergraduate student as well as recent graduated to go and work abroad, so that they •  can receive internaUonal working experience. We will hold an environmental protecUon exhibiUon. During this exhibiUon, the final designing results of students who parUcipant in the project will be displayed. All the partners and sponsors will ahend the exhibiUon as well. Project Vision •  ◊Encourage independent thinking and design ability •  ◊Provide the chance to communicaUon with students in China •  ◊Create a more harmonious environment by educaUng •  ◊See the power for changing the world by oneself Star.ng Date •  March to April Job Descrip.on •  ◊Trainees need to design & give lessons to high school students ,help them complete projects on environmental protecUon and communicate with Chinese students while ahending ajer school acUviUes. •  ◊Trainees will work together with AIESEC SISU Organizing CommiKee to design courses ,organize some campus events and prepare for the project exhibiUon day. •  ◊Trainees may have some networking opportuniUes, city walk acUviUes & chances to work with NGOs .A video called Amazing China is required to show the unique Shanghai from a foreigner’s eyes. •  ◊Trainees will get training from NGOs & Green Power Now Organizing Commihee to become the internaUonal facilitators for high school teams and Chinese culture related courses will be provided as well. Inclusions •  We provide working transportaUon allowance for the trainee. But trainees need to pay your own accommodaUon (900 CNY per month) and meals. •

Greenpower Now! Projects Introduc.on Green Power Now is a leadership program based on environmental issues for the high school students. The program aims to educate the future generaUon about the environment and empower them to become environmental and social leaders of their community. AIESEC interns join the programs and get training from NGO so that they will become internaUonal facilitators in the schools. The internaUonal facilitators provide the schools which parUcipate in the programs with training & educaUon about polluUon, climate change, bio-­‐diversity and sustainable development. Every parUcipaUng school will complete their own design about environmental protecUon under the guidance of the internaUonal facilitators during the training, and all the students will have the chance to make their ideas come true!

Red Wings Projects Introduc.on The "Red Wings" project is a community care program aims at the residents living in various communiUes in Shanghai. The idea of the project came when we see the busy-­‐working status of the young generaUon and their inevitable lack of Ume to care for the old, leaving them to live a life all by their own, lonely. Meanwhile, as ciUzens in Shanghai, people are generally in need of both a beher command of the English language and the knowledge and experience of cross-­‐cultural communicaUon, either to welcome internaUonal friends or to survive in foreign countries. .

Project Vision •  ◊Care about the elderly in communiUes and vulnerable groups in society •  ◊Gain happiness from sepng up harmonious relaUonships •  ◊Make full use of communicaUon skills & knowledge structure •  ◊Have self impact on others Star.ng Date •  March to May Job Descrip.on •  ◊Trainees going to work with other EPs in a team like a real teacher, not only giving speeches and English courses to children and elderly in communiUes in Shanghai, but also designing and deciding the level and content of the courses, gepng to know your students and building a close relaUonship with them. •  ◊InteresUng events like English Movie Dubbing compeUUon will also be designed by trainees, and trainees going to work with AIESECers in SISU to finish this task. •  ◊In addiUon, trainees need to make a video about the China and Shanghai in your eye, from a foreigners' perspecUve! •  ◊Trainees will get training to become a beher teacher, and Chinese culture related courses, such as paper-­‐clipping, calligraphy etc. will be provided free to the trainee who can gain a beher understanding of Chinese culture through these courses. Yes Young Entrepreneurship Projects Introduc.on “Young Entrepreneurship Program” is a brand-­‐new idea to youngsters in China. Entrepreneurship, which includes a sense of innovaUon, responsibility, ability to communicaUon, business knowledge and so on, is the essenUal quality for youngsters who are on the way to success. They are driving force of social development; they are masters of innovaUon. We are trying to awaken this vigorous power.

Explore China Projects Introduc.on Explore China project is a brand-­‐new project of AIESEC SISU. It's a fantasUc culture-­‐based project which will involve almost all kinds of culture embassy such as museum, art gallery, country pavilion in China. It'll bring you the deepest understanding of China and Chinese culture. It will bring you the most unique working experience. Latest Start Date: 09.04.2012 (preferred) Job Descrip.on •  Secure, conduct and facilitate workshops on HIV/AIDS awareness for youths mainly focusing in secondary schools, private colleges, local universiUes and youth centres. •  Be involve in brainstorming for learning acUviUes to plan, design and prepare campaign, events and workshops related to HIV/AIDS educaUon to raise awareness among peers and youth. •  To conduct several markeUng trips to the local companies and NGO visits. •  Designing promoUonal material for project to serve as visual reminder of the TRP events and its goal as well as to ahract parUcipaUons of youths in this project. •  Secure and conduct at least 20 workshops . Latest Start Date: •  01.07.2012 (Preferred) – one slot Job Descrip.on •  Work will be in shelter homes of underprivileged students. •  To design and execute the learning process for the children (with the age gap of 6-­‐16) in terms of homework, educaUon, tuiUon classes for English, MathemaUcs, character, personality, aptude, creaUvity (arts, music, craj, etc) and relevant soj skills. •  To organize fun filled and educaUonal acUviUes for the children like music,arts and crajs and etc. To join the kids at events conducted outdoors. •  To help out on office administraUon works such as paper works, data management and etc. Intern will also need to help the management with chores and managing the children. •  To help develop informaUon technology related skills and other useful skills like effecUve communicaUon,creaUvity and etc with the help of tools like exercises,flash cards,pictures and etc. •  Secure and conduct at least 5 workshops and successfully conduct at least 2 campaigns regarding entrepreneurship . Educate and reach out 1000 number of youths Inclusions and other details •  An intern will be charged 10 USD (33 MYR) once they agreed to join this internship. This payment covers ICX processes such as Intern RecepUon, Intern Servicing and others. (2) Intern will be staying at the shelter home with all the children. (3) AccommodaUon varies between sharing a room with other interns or sharing with the kids. (4) Food and accommodaUon provided. (5) Shelter home is reachable via public transportaUon. (6) Internet access is available in some shelter homes or if not, available at nearby cyber cafes. Interns are expected to be independent to look for their own internet resources.

Youth Energy Squad/ Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad Requirement from the Interns: •  We are looking for someone who is passionate about educaUng the youth, or have the passion of these three issues, and are able to communicate with youths and adults of varying age group. Interns are expected to have basic knowledge and experience in conducUng workshops, with good communicaUon skill, and are adaptable to the cultural differences. Do bring your own laptop and if possible camera to record your journey. Interns are given much freedom, and are expected to be independence, with a lihle monitoring from LC. On the first week interns will be guide and transit by LC member but are expected to perform start on the second week. We may conduct cultural sharing event, thus it is strongly encourage for you to bring your tradiUonal dress, food, and anything which is strongly represent your country culture.

Latest Start Date: •  11.04.2012 (preferred) Job Descrip.on •  Be involve in 4 projects ( 1 of the projects will be the main focus of the intern) , brainstorming for learning acUviUes. Plan, design and prepare workshops related to Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficient (EE), HIV & AIDS, Social Development and Cultural Understanding educaUon to raise awareness among peers and youths with the age 5 – 30 years old based on a holisUc educaUon model provided by our acUve partner CETREE and AARG. Note: CETREE will be providing demonstraUon equipment such as solar panel, toys, van or buses that are related to issue discuss and training. •  Conduct and facilitate workshops, interacUve class, etc. to youths mainly focusing in schools, colleges, universiUes. Be prepare to adjust the module based on needs and share your country culture. •  Intern is expected to parUcipate acUviUes and events of the 4 projects, working with other interns in a group of maximum 12 interns, ahend weekly meeUng and summit require documentaUon for the LC. •  Interns are given opportuniUes to learn from professional NGO exp:parUcipate their workshop or road show all around Malaysia (require to travel a lot), with the permission of LC member. •  Be ready to be involved in sales and partnership meets. Interns will talk, play with children to understand them with translaUon of a local AIESECer. •  Developing project content: build suitable programs for the children based on 5 main pillars: smart learning, general knowledge, health educaUon, self improvement acUviUes and outdoor acUviUes.
