ANNA KESZTHELYI - PORTFOLIO
HI, I’M ANNA. i have always been a highly creative person, my happy place is somewhere quiet with a pen and a piece of paper. traveling is also something i truly enjoy, whether it is a walk in the forest or a trip abroad. landscape architecture combines the love of design and my attraction to nature. i am currently pursuing a master’s degree in design strategy and innovation, that broadens my horizon in the strategic use of design, design thinking, co-creation and human centred design, as well as gives me design and innovation management skills i can benefit from in the field of architecture.

THEMED GARDENS IN SOUTH KENSINGTON zen garden
The inspiration for one of the gardens were the Japanese rock gardens with their minimalist style that creates peace and is low maintanence.
For the exotic garden the temperate houses in Kew Gardens served as inspiration, however, the planting here included fatsia, mahonia, bamboo, rhododendron and ferns that are resistant to the uk’s colder climate.
Richmond Court - a prestigious residential estate in the heart of South Kensington. Transforming the small, dark internal storage-spaces into themed gardens was a real challegne.

The challenge Each small garden has to have an individual theme that compliments the identity of the sight as a whole.
The landscape team did the brainstorming and ideation regarding the development as a whole together, which was followed by individual research. After putting a moodboard of the materials, space proportions and plantation together, the design process began. The doors and fire exists needed to be left easily accessible and the bike storages saved for the residents. The result is two gardens designed to be simple, open but exciting with a unique atmosphere. They are being built based on my design.

TO SHOW THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CERTAIN POINTS OF THE GROUND AS WELL AS HOW THE WETLANDS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE USABILITY OF THE GREEN SPACE AROUND THE HOUSES I CREATED ELEVATIONS AND CROSS-SECTIONS ALONG the ponds.

BECAUSE OF THE SCALE OF THE PROJECT ZOOMING IN ON THE DETAILS WAS ESSENTIAL. AT THE ENTRANCE THE CHANGING MATERIAL AND THE ARCH HAD TO BE SHOWN AS WELL AND THE ARRIVAL AREA. ALSO, THERE ARE DIFFERENT SIZED AND SHAPED HOUSES ON THE SITE THAT REQUIRE DIFFERENT FENCING, PARKING AND PLANTATION.
DESIGNING IN CHINA - PUBLIC OPEN SPACES YINGDALI PARK, SHENZHEN
The challenge designing for different cultures requires vast amount of research. THERE ARE DIFFERENT CUSTOMS AND BEHAVIOUR YOU DO NOT KNOW OR UNDERSTAND RIGHT AWAY, NOT TO MENTION THE REGULATIONS OF THE REGION. YINGDALI PARK IS LOCATED IN CHINA, SHENZHEN - AN UPCOMING AREA FULL OF NEW-BUILT OFFICES AND RESIDENTIAL ESTATES. TO CONSULT BRE ON DESIGNING A 100% SELF- BUILDING, I CONDUCTED THOROUGH RESEARCH ON ALTERNATIVE, ECO-FRIENDLY SOLUTIONS FOR HEATING AND ENERGY, LIKE USING BIOMIMICRY TO PROVIDE PASSIVE VENTILLATION OR USING HYDROGEN FUEL CELLS AS A RENEWABLE SOURCE OF ENERGY. I ALSO CREATED THE MASTERPLAN AND VISUALS.
GETTING TO KNOW WHO YOU DESIGN FOR IS ESSENTIAL, THEREFORE THE PROJECT STARTED WITH CAREFUL RESEARCH AND SURVEYING CHINESE PEOPLE ABOUT THEIR USE OF OPEN SPACES.
GUANG-HUA ROAD, SHENZHEN
IN ORDER TO REGENERATE THE SHENZHEN AREA, THE GOVERNMENT DECIDED TO INVEST IN GREEN SPACES.
CORTEN BOARD - HAND SKETCH
THE TWO HALF-ARCHES REPRESENT THE TRADITIONAL CHINESE BRIDGE CONNECTING THE ROAD BETWEEN THE WATERFEATURES, AND THERE IS A WETLAND AND WOODLAND AREA FENCING THE PARK. I CONTRIBUTED TO THE DESIGN AND THE VISUALS.

I FIND 3D VISUALS THE BEST WAY TO COMMUNICATE IDEAS TO CLIENTS EFFECTIVELY, ALSO I FIND IT USEFUL WHEN I FACE A DIFFICULTY IN THE DESIGN PROCESS.

ST GEORGE’S COURT IN SOUTH KENSINGTON - FREEHAND DRAWING WITH PAINT AND DIGITAL DESIGN I TOOK PART IN THE DESIGN PROCESS, CREATED THE PLANTING PLAN AND TECHNICAL DETAILS

GRAPHIC DESIGN, ILLUSTRATION, HAND SKETCHING
IN MY FREE-zzzzzzzTIME I ENJOY EXPLORING DIFFERENT DIGITAL AND PHYSICAL ILLUSTRATION TECHNIQUES. I USUALLY USE A TABLET AND A PEN TO CREATE THE LINEWORK FOLLOWED BY DIGITAL RENDERING.
