The Canvas Hotel lobby is the main area for guests to explore the art exhibits on display. Exhibits will include sculptures, paintings, and furniture. The walls of the hotel are the perfect place to highlight local artist's work. The work on the back wall is an intricate ribbon sculpture made by a local Winston-Salem artist. Lighting fixtures are used as a form of expression for the space and will invoke feeling to tie in the initial concept.
SPACE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT
The maker space is an immersive art studio that lets creatives excel at what they do best. The space allows all to dabble in the arts no matter their background or experience. The room comes with a sink for washing paint brushes, ample storage and seating, as well as large scale desks to draw and paint. The space is well lit and has glass front doors so all throughout the hotel can take a peek at all of the creativity happening in the classes.
The Canvas Hotel cocktail bar is likely to be a town favorite. The bar is open for the general public as well as hotel guests. With indoor and outdoor seating the bar is the perfect place to meet for drinks after work or a morning coffee. The bar layout has multiple individual tables for smaller parties or multiple joined seating at the bar for singles or groups of two. The bar is located off the gallery area making exploration easy on the way out.
An extension of the cocktail bar shows just how versatile and exciting the space can be. An exit door can be found right beside the bar for easy access to the exterior bar. The patio is the perfect place to go on a hot summer day for a cocktail with friends. The space is open and bright with natural light. Plants are used as decor to bring the exterior landscape inside. People will love posting and taking selfies in the extravagent mirrors throughout the hotel.
DETAILS
Boutique Common Space Elevation A common space is available on the upstairs level of the hotel. This will serve as a meeting space for families or a waiting area for guests. The space will serve as an area to highlight more art.
