ANNA GIANINETTI JEWELRY AND ACCESSORY DESIGN A.A. 2015/2016
THE STORY Studs, padlocks and cage... items traceable in the reality of Bronx; the same district from which Buscemi draws his inspiration and creativity. These elements, with contrasting and strong meanings, become decorations in my collections. Shapes, rigid in origins, become soft and comfortable to the body giving new meanings.

01 BOSS “Boss” collection is inspired by a common element: the stud. This however loses its rigidity: the tip being cut, rounded corners take place; its shape becomes more rounded and sinuous and its “softness” envelops the body giving strength and a new concept of luxury. Another detail of my collection is the Buscemi “cage”, already present in his shoes. From the shoe the cage moves to the wrist, giving it a smart protection. Therefore my jewels vary in forms and complexity. Bags’ and footwear’s elements take up stud geometry. They become precious thanks to metal inserts, typical of Buscemi’s brand.

02 PADLOCK “Padlock” collection is inspired by a sporting world, colorful and metropolitan. Accessories incorporate the iconic element of Buscemi’s brand: the padlock. This, rather than block and close objects, opens and gives breath to the forms. Crucial for my collection and Buscemi’s are the chromatic and the materic contrasts gived by coupling of the leather: soft and porous to the touch; with metal: cold, hard and smooth. My bags, as jewels and shoes, are designed to be unisex and sportifs. Cufflinks, pendants, bracelets and rings welcome my padlock witch becomes a precious charm.

03 CAGE “Cage” collection is inspired by the wire mesh of basketball courts, by radiators of the luxury cars and by fringes used by Buscemi on his shoes. Alternation between stiff and soft, full and empty, heavy and light, allows a glimpse of another world: free and sinuous. Crucial for my collections is the combination between metal and leather. This one is also used by Buscemi in his accessories. Footwear propose a new decorative element: tubular elements wrap the shoe simulating an “anklet”. The latter, as desired, can be separated from the shoe and worn on the wrist as a jewel.

04 CRYSTAL “Crystal collection presents sunglasses with a rounded shape of the frame, in contrast with the cold and stiff matter of titanium. Fundamental and unique feature for the recognition of these sunglasses is revealed when they are viewed aside: the two vertical structures in titanium enclose the lens allowing it visible anyway. Other elements, both decorative and functional for the glasses, are the eight screws located on the front of the frame: these, as other details, are inspired by some accessories offered by Buscemi’s brand, like his small hat with screws.

The two bags showed here were made manually. Backpack and pochette were created, after studying aesthetic and technical forms, by assembling leather via industrial sewing machine. Some of these elements were realized by cut shapes and ended with “lissatura.
All projects that have not been made by hand, are created by computer. Jewels, bags and shoes are created using different programs: Photoshop for drawings; Rhinoceros for 3D models; KeyShot for the rendering of materials.
Jewels I showed are made manually at work station. The primary models of some of them have been designed by computer, printed with 3D machineries and subjected to all steps necessary for casting. Later they were finished by work station and galvanized in order to give them greater bringhtness and beauty.
