the mind map The first step in my process was creating a mind map in order to organize all of my thoughts after researching the company. Once my mind map was completed there were several words that I wanted to focus on while re branding threadstax. The key word I focused on were:
efficient organization modern storage clean
3
versatile space solution long-lasting timeless
easy repetitive neat smart home-product
laundry piles of clothes household convenient folding
4
moodboard
5
I felt that some sort of black and white repetitive pattern would do a good job showing the precise and exact motion of folding clothes over and over again to get the same neat result.
While looking for inspiration and the mood of my product I really focused on what I wanted this product to do. I wanted it to be: timeless, modern and repetitive. I was really focusing on patterns something that gives you the same perfect result which is what the threadstax product gives the user.
6
initial sketches
After initial research I began sketching, flushing out all of the ideas that were coming to mind by focusing on my key words I had found in my mind map.

digital sketches
9
While refining my sketches digitally I decided to select the drawings that showed the anatomy of a t-shirt, or how the t shirt is folded. I discovered that the parts that divide up a t-shirt also create a “T shape, if the points are connected. This T would become my logo.

the anatomy of a t-shirt
11
I found inspiration in the different way that t shirts are folded. After research I found that the most popular way and “easiest was by drawing an imaginary dividing line on the shirt into points. When pinching these points and following a folding motion you are able to fold a t-shirt perfectly. I symbolized these points with circles and connected them with a line, which happened to form a T.
12
a logo in motion
The threadstax T comes to life be its line connecting dot by dot to the points of folding on a t-shirt. Once it is done drawing itself and connecting all of the points it becomes a T that flips right side up. (seen in motion piece)

anatomy of the logo The Threadstax logo’s segments are all based on the exact distance of the four points on the a t-shirt that are used to fold it. The circles are the exact points on which the t-shirt is to be pinched and folded, resulting in a perfect fold every time. The distance between the logo and the letter mark is exactly half of a top segment of the connecting line.

Circular ABCDEFGHIJKLMN OPQRSTUVWXYZ abcdefghijklmn opqrstuvwxyz 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 ! @ # $ %^&( ) The circular e was one of the main reason I chose circular to be my the typeface for my letter mark. The lowercase e in Circular is so round that is takes a circle like form (true to it’s name). The roundness of the Circular e complimented the four circle points in my logo.

pattern and structure The threadstax T has two patterns that I designed both displaying the versatility and the structure of the logo. The first pattern in the three step motion of the T flipping right side up. The other is a unique grid that is built up only be repetition of the logo. Demonstrating the repetitive and exact nature of the logo. The grid pattern comes in both inverse black and white and black and white.
