The victim said on that day, he got a text message inviting him to a “Senior Meet-Up” at a bar in Bradenton Beach. He told police that the event seemed to be organized by a group of younger people and did not appear to be affiliated with the bar. The officer said the man was paired with an older woman and they had a few drinks before going to a restaurant. The victim doesn’t remember anything after that, saying he may have been slipped a drug or had a reaction to the alcohol. The victim’s female friend in Georgia reported to police that she got several text messages from the victim and the female from the “meet-up” and was worried about him. The victim said he waited to report the incident until he returned to the area after going out of state for a few days because his mind wasn’t clear. The friend from Georgia sent the texts and pictures to police, who are working to determine exactly what happened.
