Where do my contributions towards the education of underprivileged children go?

Where do my contributions towards the education of underprivileged children go? Since I was a young girl, I found a lot of joy in going to school, attending classes, and having lunch with my friends. As I grew up, I realized that not every child in India can enjoy the same things that I did, and poverty acts as a barrier to education for a large group of underprivileged children. A few years ago I left my corporate job, and have dedicated my efforts to gift the power of education to as many young minds as possible. Since then, I have traveled to different parts of India and volunteered in some of the top NGOs in India working towards educating children.

From my experience, I can tell you where exactly donation for poor child education are allocated by NGOs: 1. Providing children with food: Ensuring that children are well-nourished is extremely important so that they can concentrate in class and focus on their studies. I have seen a lot of children feel very lethargic and perform poorly in academics if they do not receive high-quality food to consume. Food NGOs in India have partnered with the government to implement the mid-day meal scheme in schools. 2. Ensuring children are taught by the best teachers: I have observed that a large portion of an NGOs budget is allocated to onboarding and retaining teachers. Being taught by good and friendly teaching staff creates a solid foundation for learning and development. The teachers are usually provided with the necessary material and go through training programs. This is done to continually improve the standards of what is being taught to students.

3. Building necessary infrastructure: Basic infrastructure is needed to maintain the safety of students, and create a suitable environment for learning in children NGO. The NGO I am volunteering at is building toilets and installing filters to get clean water, to make sure hygiene is maintained. I have seen how education acts as a catalyst for positive change, with my own eyes. The young students I interacted with have grown up to become independent, hard-working, and capable individuals. These NGOs are truly making a tremendous difference in the lives of young Indians. I strongly encourage you to understand more about these organizations and contribute if you wish to brighten a child’s future through the power of education.
