RED DESIGN GROUP Working as a interior designer for a medium sized retail & hospitality fitout specalist firm EPHEMERIAL ARCHITECTURE In Ephemeral Architecture we explored the temporary, the notion of the incomplete and transitional holding a greater importance than the permanent. Places staged changes over a short and long period off time allowing the building to respond to the natural site phenomena. SPE-CI-FI-CITY Looking at the diverst quadrant of Melbourne; Footscray, this studio explores in particular specificity and the contrast between a vast community against the backdrop of a generic development

BOUTIQUE SPECULATIVE OFFICE TOWERS 12 storey office building located in Melbourne CBD UNBOUND In Unbound, I explores the importance of landscape and experience. The presence of light, floods and seasonal changes is intergrated into the daily uses of the building and the relationship of the residence is redefined

I TESTED THE IDEA WITH A MODEL, AS PREDICTED THE DIFFERENCE IN TIME ALLOWS CERTAIN ASPECTS OF THE BUILDING TO BE HIGHLIGHTED. THIS ALLOWS THE USERS TO FOCUS ON THE MATERIALITY AND SPACE OF THE BUILDING REFLECTING BACK TO THE HISTORICAL ELEMENTS OF FRYERSTOWN.

LOCATION Located in the small town of Fryerstown , this project focuses on creating a space to celebrate the unique ephemeral qualities of the town. DESIGN CONCEPT Using literature and stories as a device to reimagine a space catered to the people who habitate the town to ongoing visitors.

BEAM OF LIGHT SHOWN AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE YEAR

PROGRAM The programs are divided into three sections (a library, 3PM 6PM a accomadation and a market) these spaces are all interconnected through the natural landscape.

UNBOUND PROGRAM The building is a response to the reoccuring floods in Castlemaine, during wet conditions the building which welcomes people, the building becomes a safe haven during the flood CONCEPT The concept was developed through research on floods in Castlemaine, fear has been the common reaction when it comes to floods but this project challenges this thought by managing the water flows . STRUCTURE The flow of the water is controlled by a wall which is one of the foundational support of the building, the building is fixated onto the wall , depending on the weather conditions certain areas are flooded.
