I graduated in architecture in 2010 at IUAV University in Venice with Prof. Bernardo Secchi. The thesis “Planities” envisions, through an extreme scenario, the proposal for an unitary project for the Po Valley area. The landscape becomes the tool that examines the possibility of a radical redefinition of the materials for a urban project on a large scale. Between 2006 and 2010 I have collaborated with Salottobuono architectural office in Venice, taking part to several national and international competition projects. With them I had also the opportunity to work in the editing the section “Instructions and Manuals” inside of the italian architecture and design review “Abitare”. From 2010 to 2013 I have worked as Senior Architect in the landscape office LAND based in Milan, taking part to projects of open spaces and green areas, from the concept phase up to the final layout, and managing strategic-territorial projects. Since March 2012 I’m assistant of Prof. Andreas Kipar in “Landscape and public space design” studio at Politecnico in Milan.

BIOMASS ENERGY PLANT IN ZAGREB CONCEPT STUDIES SALOTTOBUONO+POOL 11/05/2014

SALOTTOBUONO+POOL 11/05/2014

The design of the new biomass plant is located in an area not far from the city center of Zagreb, in an industrial context that probably in 10/15 years could become part of the new extencion of the city. For this reason the commitment asks to include in the new project of the plant, the accomodation of multifunctional activities. This new program has to be sets above the technical rooms which host the machinery for the combustion and the production of energy. Our proposal is to distribute on the roof a system of pavilions that can host an artistic program. The pavilions are interspersed with open spaces creating a sequence of pools and green areas on the west side. In the east side, the terraces are then extensions of the covered areas. In this way the project is very flexible and creates a variety of covered and open spaces that are generous and have special quality in spatial terms, spaces that can host different programs and facilities.

Plongeé d’automne is an experience in two parts: dive and immersion. DIVE The visitor is invited to climb the ladder placed along the edge and discover, from a privileged point of view, the great spectacle of foliage. The spontaneous phenomenon of color changing in the fall is a natural event that turns the large natural parks of Quebec in a great show. 7 different colors and 13 species that bloom in the summer, are mixed up in a pattern that forms a gradient from green to red. They reproduce the typical autumn colors, a suggestion that leads the visitor into a time gap. IMMERSION The edge of the pool is the place where you can either sit with other visitors or find rest individually. You dip the legs in the mass of grass and perennials with their scents and colors. Plonge d’automne creates a new world where the visitor loses the current size of reality as in a painting. You suddenly find yourself in a magical place: a colorful and lively swimming pool .

Delta and Porto Baros Project composition

Rijeka (Croazia) 2013 Ideas Competition Honorable mention DELTA

The green link that runs from the hills along the valley of the Rijecina river become the main natural connection that crosses the Delta area, a link that allows the perception of the sea on one side and of the largely uncontaminated inland area on the other. The new Delta will be the in-between territory where the two ecosystems will intersect and merge. The area of the South Delta has been constantly redesigned through time according to the needs of land for a city in expansion. Now that the city is fully entered in its post-industrial phase, and the priority has become the reorganization of the existing structure, we can start looking at the relations between the city and the sea in terms of “water reclamation. Incorporating the water into the city means substituting a qualitative approach to a merely quantitative one. We propose to strongly redesign the coastline of Rijeka, in line with its historical development, with an eye on the future driving forces. Water will give the site a formal autonomy and identity, it will be the main structuring element for public and private articulation of space and it will play an active infrastructural role for connectivity and environmental quality.

Archipelago K Kristinehamn (SE) 2013 Europan competition with Caterina Gerolimetto

The town of Kristinehamn is faces the Lake Vänern in a natural location of high environmental value, and it is placed in between the most famous touristic cities in Sweden (Stockholm, Malmo, Goteborg). In a vision for the future of Kristinehamn its strategic position has to become a potential. How Kristinehamn can be an attractive and competitive location? Through the project of the park, the aim is to create the right conditions with a long term plan to revitalize the whole city. It will have to start from all the existing attractive points that are spread around the project area, considering the river and the lake as parts of a complex system; all this elements are just like the island of an Archipelago, that find their beauty and their strength interacting together and creating a network. The potentialities of the city are strongly connected to an idea of archipelago. The future vision has to consider a development of the connections with the other towns around the Vänern lake, in order to create a unitary system. This goal can be reached through the empowerment of the mobility network, and through the definition of a unitary “brand” that promotes the whole territory.

Masterplan BH Bassano del Grappa (VI) 2011 Landscape Masterplan with LAND srl C+S Associati

In the masterplan, the park has a strategic value in terms of environmental performance as part of a larger system, the “ green ring “. The green ring has its origin in the historical voids in Bassano starting from the two squares in the town center. A Ring of slow mobility connecting urban centers with logistic functions of transport, cultural, educational and residential area. The park is proposed as a space of mediation between inside and outside, between city and nature , between development and sustainability. So the system of green and open spaces becomes the backbone of the transformations within the project area , the base of the new relationships with the existing city. The park percolates across the railway line joins the existing cycle and pedestrian routes , opens towards the train station and bus routes, where pedestrian cross paths lead you to the school poles.

Waterfront Cul Lone - Rovinj (CH) 2012 Landscape Masterplan with LAND srl

Preliminary and final design for the redevelopment of the waterfront in Rovinj, Hrvatska. In a prestigious turistic area in Rovinj the goal of the project is the design of a pedestrian paths along the sea with the creation of spaces for sport and leisure. An equipped path leads the visitor along the coast with a system of beaches, swimming pools and wooden platforms in the water. At the end of it the big green arena, a space for concerts and events along the see.

Valsesia Green Paradise (Vercelli) 2012 Landscape Masterplan with LAND srl client: Matteo Thun & Partners

Alagna and Riva Valdobbia are two towns at the foot of Monte Rosa, looking to start a new tourism development. The masterplan becomes the frame in which each investors and actor can find space to act towards a common vision. “Valsesia Green Paradise becomes a model where experiment a innovative strategy of sustainable tourism. The main purpose concerns the critical analysis of the urban-environment of the area in order to provide guidelines for the development of tourism, starting from the quality of public space. The aim is give a direction to planning tools as well to support the municipal government involved.

Waldhotel Burgenstock 2012 Landscape Consultant with LAND srl client: Matteo Thun & Partners

The new hotel-wellness is situated on a promontory in Burgenstock (Switzerland), and overlooks the lake of Lucerne. The building has a stepped section, and thanks to that it becoms part of the slope on which it is inserted. It’s the desire to integrate as much as possible the project to its context that generated a sequence of open and covered spaces in which every roof becomes a garden. The theme developed for the green terraces is the concept of micro-landscape, a chance to think about these open spaces such as fragments of the surrounding landscape: the landscape of the high mountain ( with rocks and rhododendron), the forest of conifers and down, the deciduous forest with beech and hornbeam. The section of the building becomes a section of landscapes at different altitudes. The design of the terraces designs and recreates the atmosphere of teh typical landscape of this region.

Ghost

Primavera

2011 Valdagno (Vicenza)

The copetition task is the reuse of Gio Ponti’s villa foundations in Valdagno. The construction of Gio Ponti’s villa stopped during the II World War. Competition In 2008 the fence wall between Parco la Favorita with Salottobuono and the city has been torn down, freeing the park for Valdagno citizens. Inside the park, in the exact centre of the esplanade, fitting perfectly in the symbolic axis connecting the private residence of the factory-owner and his urban creature, something is missing. GHOST is the phantom of the never-built villa, the new vanishing point of an incomplete perspective. GHOST is the project for a new empty room on top of the existing platform. We prefer to describe its intrinsic qualities rather than defining its function. Its program it’s not clear yet, as it depends from very different and unpredictable elements: the management, the actors and the budget for the event that will take place in the area. Architecture could absorb these uncertainties by means of a generous and well determined intervention. The room has a rectangular shape, 30 m wide, 36 m deep and 9 m high; it is enclosed by a fabric net that, while disappearing during the day, Autunnogets very defined edges when lit during the night. The net is sustained by a perimeter of very thin white steel poles, 6m distance one from each other.
