RYAN COBOURN Ryan Cobourn uses the natural world to inspire his artwork. The paintings emerge through a process where the environment is transformed through the lens of the artist. Capturing the colors and memory of the landscape through layered brush strokes and heavy uses of paint, the artist aims to recreate the feeling of a place and time. In the “Woods” series, Cobourn uses inspiration from Louisiana’s natural environment in his Brooklyn,NY studio.

MAURA SEGAL Maura Segal creates layered artwork from papers intermixed with acrylic paint. Painting and living in Los Angeles, CA, many of Maura’s pieces draw on the way humans move through an urban network. The organic line created by the artist in strings of fine paper, dances through the framework of colorblocked shapes.
PASTEL ( FRANCISCO DIAZ ) Known as “PASTEL� across the globe the artist, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a prominent figure in the landscape of public artwork. The artist began as a formal architect and used his skills in technical drawing and scale to create multi-story live murals painted using the ratio of his body as the only marker for scale. The work surrounds the beauty that can grow in unlikely places. Inspired by the uprising of communities in his own country and around the world, the artist creates work that is meant to inspire and elevate public art across the globe. Pastel has visited and worked in Baton Rouge.

PAUL YANKO Paul Yanko’s paintings are developed through an additive process of layering acrylic paint, collage materials, and various mediums over masked areas. Inspired by prisms and light reflection, the artist creates dynamic compositions highlighted by unique palettes of color and line.
TRACEY ADAMS Studying the technique of encaustic for over 20 years, Tracey Adams is in a constant state of discovery in using natural bees wax with paint, collage and paper to create unique textures. The labor-intensive practive involves hours of melting and layering wax in subtle veils to create a unique surface. The “Hypnagogia” Series is the artist’s memory of an environment. The colored blocks of the installation serve as snapshots of the natural world.

ANDRÉE B. CARTER Andrée B. Carter is a New Orleans native who moved to Los Angeles in 2012. Her painting style is a combination of color theory and improvisation. The heavy application of paint creates a tapestry effect that can sometimes appear as textile from a distance. The artist refers to the work as “controlled expressionism” where her experience serves to dictate her composition, but there is always an element of chance in her work.

DOUG GLOVASKI
Doug Glovaski, inspired by his imagination of the visual representation of “energy” creates the “Appearance” series as a layering of wax, oils and paint on paper. The ribbons of connectivity weave through the work in bursts of color with ghosted ribbons floating to the back. The work is created using a process beginning with drawing, moving to washes of oil paint and completing with acrylic and wax applications.

DOUG KENNEDY Being from a graphic design background, Doug Kennedy has a unique approach to rendering the natural world in his paintings. Growing up in Monroe, LA, Doug had a strong connection to the land and the water of the region. His paintings reflect the lines and connection between the flora and fauna and a constant emphasis on the path of water moving through the composition. The paintings are created through a lengthy layering process involving media like india ink, printing inks, graphite and oil paint. The artist approaches the paintings from all angles and only determines the orientation once the painting is in deemed “harmonious� in his eye.
SIMON KEF “KEF!” is a London-based graffiti artist born as Simon Rhodeler in Germany. The artist excels in painting variations of lines and has a unique and intriguing abstract style. Though he uses urban techniques like spray paint and markers, the artist does not want to be classified within only the public art genre. He considers himself a street artist as well as an abstract designer. “KEF!” visited Baton Rouge and created public works of art in the downtown area and contemporary works on canvas and paper.

CECIL TOUCHON Cecil Touchon is an American collage artist who was at the forefront of the language-based collage movement “Fluxus” in the late 1970s. Exhibiting through prestigious contemporary galleries across the country and museum exhibitions through prominent institutions, the artist creates work that deconstructs language and makes the viewer think about the way we communicate; not only those who are similar to us, but more importantly with peoples who are unlike us. Most recently, he collaborated with designer and founder of Comme des Garcons, Rei Kawakubo for 2018 Paris Men’s Fashion Week.

GWEN GUNTER Gwen Gunter visits the nostalgia of the mid century contemporary art movements. Inspired by the modern masters, the artist creates geometric landscapes that are a playful and surreal. A graphic artist, illustrator, photographer, Gwen has worked in the apparel and lifestyle industry for most of her life and draws on the exposure to color and shape to create her paintings.
KATHERINE LANE Following the art direction of the consultants, the artist created a continuous line drawing reflecting a diverse group of men and women. The style of the design reflects the influence of modern artists like Picasso and Joan Miro. This custom wall mural was designed specifically for TBT Industries and will be hand painted on the wall of the breakroom.
