TREY EGAN

Responding to the spectrum of colors in reflected light, Trey Egan creates shapes of color in vivid hues. Inspired by the natural world, his palette vibrates with his use of complimentary and tertiary colors. His oil paintings are created with a process that combines lavish mark making, natural gesture and shape integration. Commissioned for the Woman’s Hospital, the intention of the artist is to uplift and inspire visitors and patients of the hospital.

NICOLE CHARBONNET

Nicole Charbonnet’s work reflects on the vintage and antique quality of botanical drawings from the turn of the century. Her process superimposes textures, images, shapes and loose washes of paint to create images that retain or reveal a “memory”. Before transitioning to being a full time professional artist, Nicole was a physician in New Orleans for many years. These pieces were created specifically for this project to reflect imagery that offers a window into the environment that provides a much-needed respite for those dealing with healthcare issues.


Japanese Magnolia Ceramic Glazed Installation Set of 225 Flowers Location: First Floor Elevator Bay


BRADLEY SABIN

Bradley Sabin, inspired by the flower of the iconic Japanese magnolia, hand molds, fires and glazes each flower in a unique phase of bloom. The artist installed the wall of flowers at Woman’s Hospital and his intention is for viewer to feel as if they are protected by arms wrapped around them. Sabin uses his observations and love of gardening to create the same sense of awe and wonder that is achieved when seeing something in our natural world. Each installation is composed of hundreds of hand sculpted flowers which are hand painted and glazed.


LISA DISTEFANO

Lisa di Stefano’s work employs subtle details, respectful suggestions, and rousing palettes. A Baton Rouge native, she often chooses the Louisiana landscape as the subject of her paintings; enlivening trees, water, and marsh grasses with a diversity of hues and thin, multi-layered brush strokes.

ELISE TOUPS

Elise Toups photographs and paints studies of parks and natural areas during explorations across the state. Her unique spectrum of colors and use of strong perspective creates a playful landscape filled with vibrant colors and detailed lines. She hopes her work documenting these spaces reawakens people to the experience of being enamored by the outdoors and encourages them to explore nature for themselves.

IOANNIS KOSELOGLOU

Ioannis Koseloglou draws his inspiration from his love for color, texture and scale. Working as a professional textile designer for apparel companies, he explores historical patterns with fresh perspective. He uses both digital media and hand drawing techniques to source his designs. The installation is a reference to Japanese Chinoiserie patterning printed on a contemporary metal substrate.

Lisa Distefano creates her work with the intention of capturing a dreamlike memory of a landscape, creating a positive distraction for those who need a hopeful moment.

RYAN COBOURN

Ryan Cobourn uses the natural world to inspire his artwork. The paintings emerge through a process where the environment is transformed through the artist lens. Capturing the colors and memory of the landscape through layered brush strokes and heavy uses of paint, the artist aims to recreate the feeling of a place and time. In the “Woods” series, Cobourn uses inspiration from Louisiana’s natural environment in his Brooklyn, NY studio.


JULIA LUCEY

Julia Lucey uses traditional etching and aqua-tint techniques to explore the natural world. Her etchings are meant to evoke the sense of nature-in-waiting. The artist uses her “watchful� animals to give the viewer an intimate look into the wild and delicate structure of our ecosystem.
