CAFES

LOYSEL’S TOY 66 KAMPONG BUGIS, #01-01 SAM TAT BUILDING, SINGAPORE

Loysel’s Toy is a cafe with a great ambience and also the food tastes just as good! At first, the cafe was a little bit hard to find as you need to cross two bridges over Rochor River from Lavender MRT. If you are travelling by car, we would highly recommend you to go pay a visit because the cafe is simply perfect for a brunch or a chat over a cup of coffee. The food there is good, and the desserts are honestly to die for. The coffee is average. It isn’t good but it isn’t that bad either. If you are someone who like your coffee less bitter, you will surely enjoy the place and also the coffee there. The highlight of the place is that the ambience is really nice. You can also choose whether you want to sit on the outside or inside of the cafe. It doesn’t really give you a sense of homeliness, but definitely gives you all the comfort you need in a cafe.

HOUSE OF COMMONS 138 OWEN ROAD, SINGAPORE

House of Commons is a newly opened café at Owen Road, near Farrer Park that serves up specialty expresso-based coffees and delicious bites. The interior of the café is cosy and the decoration of the café is great. The attention that the barista pay to their customers is a bonus as well. He was very friendly and it gives us a sense of homeliness. The place is a very lovely place to hang out. Ordering a cup of coffee is a must when you visit House of Commons as they are so serious about their craft that they flew to Australia for proper baritsa training and have learnt the finer points of making a great cup of coffee. It was rich and aromatic, nicely balanced with the warm foamy milk. Besides munchies, they serve sandwiches, cakes and also croissants. It would be a perfect place to hangout for a nice cosy atmosphere and chill for a date!

OLD HEN COFFEE BAR 88 RANGOON ROAD, SINGAPORE

Located in the Central heart of Singapore, Old Hen is considered one of the new cafes established in 2014. Old Hen coffee bar is a cosy unit that sits along Rangoon Road, very near to Farrer Park. It may seem like a small and an ordinary cafe to some but I promise you it’s the best place to be when you need some catching up with your friend or even some time alone! The ambience is perfect. Old Hen has a space concept of ‘Less Is More’. Despite its small interior design, the furniture and decorations are well arranged, making it look big and spacious, even big enough to fit a group of 6-10 people. Avg. spend: $10Nearest MRT

: Farrer Park

Opening hours Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday

: 12.00pm - 10.00pm : Closed : 12.00pm - 10.00pm : 12.00pm - 10.00pm : 12.00pm - 10.00pm : 10.00am - 10.00pm : 10.00am - 06.00pm

They offer cakes too for those of you who have a sweet tooth! The highlight of their dessert is one which is called ‘Pannacotta’ which is a vanilla pudding in a cup, topped with chocolate and caramel popcorn.
