Editorial Layout & Design Overview Evolve is a scientific magazine focusing on the area of biology. It contains articles that highlight the many ways biology impacts our lives. To do this the magazine uses articles about studies, research, interviews with scientists and simply interesting facts people may not be aware of. Challenge To create a magazine that is not only highly informative but well designed to attract the interest of a wider audience. Solution The masthead design cleverly uses the “o� like a magnifiying glass to emphasize the inquisitive nature of the magazine. The design of the magazine is sleek and modern using geometric shapes and angles. The designs always compliments the fascinating articles and keeps the reader wanting more






Logo, Jewelry Design, Packaging Overview: Luster is a jewelry and packaging concept. Luster is elegant and fashion forward jewelry for the modern woman. Challenge: To create a logo that is clean and modern to be used on all packaging elements. The packaging must be both visually interesting and functional, as well as fit the overall brand. Solution: The logo is a combination of triangular shapes that references the way a light would play over the shape. The packaging takes these triangular elements and uses them repeatedly. The colors are very different shades of warm and cool greys that make the boxes appear to be reacting to light. All components are functional and beautiful.








Overview As a fine artist I have many different figure paintings I have made and would like to showcase. Challenge I need an easy way to showcase my work. The paintings must be presented to their best advantage. Solution To design and create a book of paintings that contains large high quality images to best display the details and brushstrokes of each painting. This book must also suite my personality and have its place in my personal branding. Book of Personal Paintings






Ads, Kindle Cases

Overview Kindle is a popular e-reader made by Amazon. Though they have a few commercial advertisments for Kindle there aren’t many advertisments in printed media. Challenge To create unique ads and materials that attract interest and invite viewers to see words in a whole new way. Solution Make the ads using typography alone to show what words can do when they are displayed in a new and interesting way. Use this same concept to design cases for the kindle, these will further the campaign and create more awareness of this product.






Overview Seven Deadly Zins is a mid-priced zinfandel created by the Phillips brothers, it is a beautifully unique blend of Old Vine Zinfandels from seven different vineyards. Challenge To bring attention to this brand of wine and encourage a wider audience to buy it. It is already receiving positive reviews online, so the intent is to raise awareness and get the attention of both wine lovers and potentially new costumers. Solution Create visually stunning advertisements that capture audience interest and create an irresistable product. Use multiple media to create brand awareness and attention. All of these pieces still fit together seamlessly in the overall advertising campaign.

Overview: Bradt-Luciani Real Property Services is a small abstract and title business in Syracuse, New York. Together they have 50 years of experience in the real estate business. Challenge: As a new business they require a branding solution that fits their needs. They must look professional and competent and the design should be simple and easy to implement. Solution: The logo is architectural and interesting and is used in a beautifully simple stationary package as well as a website. The colors are limited but dynamic and fits together seamlessly in a cohesive brand. Logo, Website, Stationary Package








Typeface, Packaging, Poster Overview Wireplay is a decorative italic typeface based on the movement of wire. Challenge To design a new typeface that is completely unique and interesting. It is to be based on the Ivy Light, an invention award winner. This typeface will be used as proprietary for the Ivy Light brand. Solution The typeface is elegant in its movement, each letter continuous and never overlapping. It is thin and slanted slighty to give it a modern yet interesting feel. The typeface is clearly inspired by the Ivy Light and is shown in a promotional poster as well as in Ivy Light packaging.

Logo, Menu, Business Card, Website Overview JP Henley’s is a local St. Augustine bar/restaurant that caters to tourists and locals alike. It is well known for having a wide selection of beers and wine on tap as well as a multitude of bottled beers. Challenge To rebrand JP Henley’s and give it a fun modern image. As a tourist location JP Henley’s has the unique opportunity to have many new visitors. A cohesive interesting branding strategy will help attract new customers that may be visiting St. Augustine and looking for a fun place to get a drink. Solution The new branding will have a fun, warm, modern feel. The logo is a watermark that can be used in many ways. The business card is simple and sophisticated. The beer menu continues the branding in a cohesive way. The website is engaging and informative, featuring beautiful photography.







Overview Kuru Kuru Sushi is a unique Japanese restaurant in which the sushi comes to you via a conveyor belt. This allows the guests see the sushi before they choose it. Challenge To brand Kuru Kuru Sushi in a way that makes it approachable and fun to attract new customers and keep current ones. Solution Create a logo that is unique but still belongs with a sushi restaurant. Make an interesting and usable menu that helps guests understand the sushi they see. Also, make a website that informs about the restaurant and makes people want to visit. Merchandise will also be designed in order to create more brand awareness and interest. Overview Using apps has become a part of our daily life. They are used to do anything from play games to organizing our valuable time. Challenge To create and design an app that is an all-in-one travel companion. It should be suited to the traveling business person’s lifestyle and allow them to perform all the tasks that arise when one travels. Solution Make and app that allows one to organize all travel information such as flight info, rental car info, hotel info, and contacts. The user will also be able to store and share documents for easy access. They will be able to create forums to live chat with business contacts and share info and files.
