Kristine Mydland (a student from arkitektskolen Aarhus) located in Brabrand, in the western part of Aarhus, this project looked to explore how the existing residential buildings and the ‘ghetto’ area can be utilized in a better way in order to ensure a healthy social mixture. the vision was to give a new identity and transform Toveshøj area into a vibrant, attractive and safe district with a thriving urban life. it should open up to the surrounding city and invite people in. we aimed to upgrade buildings with aesthetic sensibility, empathy, environmental responsibility and constructive design. the project incorporates demolition process which confirms recycling and ecofriendly precautions.

competition entry - Skellefteå cultural center and hotel [bygningskonstruktør at Jørn Schutze Arkitektfirma; spring 2016] Skellefteå, Sweden Skellefteå Municipality from schematic design to design development 3D modelling; hotel & SPA design; facade & section drawings; final drawing material and poster preparation Fine Mansen, Oskars Lapsa, Jørn Schutze
the purpose of the open competition was to develop a proposal on how a cultural center with hotel could be designed, and anchor the building in the urban landscape, both in terms of volume and functions. our building possesses identity, character, and is easily recognizable because of the terraced wedge shape that enriches the city's skyline. the hotels' 200 rooms, restaurant, and spa facilities form the upper wedge-shaped building body that almost floats above the cultural house. it’s a catalyst for dynamism and activity around the clock. the many features of the building and the simple organization, thanks to the extreme flexibility of the building, allow for many parallel activities, large and small events, without mutual genes.

single-family house/ private villa [bygningskonstruktør at Jørn Schutze Arkitektfirma; spring 2016] Hørretvej 123 (Mårslet, Denmark) Poul Spliid Pedersen from conceptual design to design development 3D modeling; development of all drawings; renderings; document/drawing preparation for meetings with client Fine Mansen,Jørn Schutze
the body of the building has an intention to let the flow of nature go with ease and no disturbance. “the orangery” calmy divides the building into two separate parts and invites nature inside creating a pleasant courtyard while the high facades act as protection and improve the privacy. the slight slope of the building follows the rhythm of the existing topography. the private villa consists of individually function-focused areas that contribute to each other generating a rewarding both indoor and outdoor traffic.

“this project layed down the roots in my personal passion for single-family house & villa architectural projects. the process from the very start of a blank Revit page to a fantastic outcome with strong identity and a big smile on our clients’ face is the reason why I’ll always burn for this, for what I do.”

visualization projects [bygningskonstruktør at Volko Engineering; autumn 2018] rendering development the purpose of these various projects was to work with aesthetics and the visual parts. the art of development from schematic 3D model to an actual building coming alive is just like an exciting journey - it`s diďŹƒcult to decide when to stop. the work agenda includes receiving a schematic Revit model from Volko Engineering and `playing` with the model until all of the involved parties are more than satisďŹ ed.
