A Shopaholic Story BY ANSHITA JAIN
Ages have gone but till date a women cannot resist her urge for shopping, in fact she has improved them. At present its not only females who are called shopaholics, even males are considered shopaholics. In today’s scenario Internet has made it so easy for the public or for specifically shopaholics to shop that they don’t even need to step outside and they can buy clothes or whatever while sitting at home only. There are online stores available to them, online sites where cash on delivery is also available and they can either pay through their debit or credit card.

A shopaholic not only buys the stuff which is important for him he/she buys the stuff which is not at all important. At times he /she is having some things which they have never used and which are of no use to them. Still the urge to shop makes them buy such products. You’ll find clothes in very corner of their room or packed clothes as well which they have never worn or even opened up. You’ll even find tons and tons of clothes in their wardrobe. They buy stuff which is irrelevant plus useless at times.
Because of their urge for shopping, at times get into troubles like lending money from friends or parents, using their saving on shopping. They exide the credit card limit so badly that bankers keep on calling them still they hardly bother to
stop. At time their bank accounts are freezed by their parents or their partner s still they manage to shop.
Shopping not only leads them in wrong areas, it also changes their whole personality. Shopaholics not only face humiliation but they even loose trust from the people around them. They not only lead themselves into wrong habits and wrong paths they also gets so lonely that don’t get the proper space for ownselves. Their entire world is filled with clothes and products and more clothes.
HOW CAN YOU JUDGE THAT YOU ARE A SHOPAHOLIC? -YOU ARE ALWAYS READY FRO SHOPPING -YOU DONT HAVE THAT MUCH AMOUNT TO SPEND ON CERTAIN PRODUCT, BUT YOU FIND YOURSELF ENDING YP BUYING IT - YOU CAN GO ON SHOPPING ALL ALONE

known for her tattoos, has appeared in the advertisement which asks people to be comfortable in their own skin and not to use fur
and leather items. Her photo in the advertisement comes with the slogan ‘Ink, not mink’.
Sapna Bhavnani is a work of art. Svelte, stylish and remarkably photogenic, she has a devil-may-care attitude and a there-is-a-God type of body that revels in grime-punk couture. Born in an Indian Sindhi family, A die-hard Bandra resident and unwitting Mumbai style icon, Bhavnani wears more hats (literally and figuratively) than there are days in the week, and her job description
changes as often as her hair color. When she’s not experimenting with daring hairstyles on celebrity tresses at either of her two kitschy salons she’s playing producer, director, writer, photographer, DJ, actor, clown or hooky. Her success arrived through an unstoppable creative drive, an ability to run with opportunity whenever it knocked and a fearlessness and free-
dom with expression. A prankster and rebel at heart, Sapna tells of a childhood filled with escapades of freedom: she recounts the time she rode a motorcycle to school, an occasion when she took her father’s rifle to class, and the day she stole a bottle of chloroform from the biology lab and used it on her father so she could sneak out late with the boys. Her father, a Sindhi restaurant owner, died
prematurely when Sapna was 18. Her mother, a widow in her late 30s with three growing children and unstable finances, went through many struggles to keep the family functioning together.Through her swaggering, trash-talking exterior, Sapna’s gentle love for her father is unquestionable. “I may
look like a freak, but deep inside, I’m just daddy’s little girl.
After a couple of years in a Mumbai college, Bhavnani headed to business administration school in Chicago egged on by the persuasive aunt who was funding her education, although still secretly harbouring her dreams of fashion school. In Chicago, Sapna initially did some odd jobs like waitressing at an Italian restaurant and enrolled herself as a student at a business school. She soon became a party girl and
started doing drugs. She did double majors in Marketing and Communication and a minor in Public Speaking from Chicago. Sapna additionally tried her hand in fashion designing. She developed an interest in hairdressing and took up this profession. “I
decided that by the time I hit 30, I wanted to have a house in the hills, a Cadillac and an Elvis lookalike boyfriend.” She
was living the American Dream in Los Angeles, California and managed to get what she wanted. By the time she reached 7th grade, her attention shifted from academics and she says she then “discovered” boys! Though presently claims to be single, she had past three failed marriages. She divorced her first husband, a German, after about a year of marriage, as
Sapna said her mother-in-law was racist towards her and used to call her “dot-head” and “brown skinned”. Sapna also termed her fatherin-law as paranoid. Her second marriage was to the Indian man for whom she relocated from USA to India, and Sapna used to date him when she was in her teens. Sapna divulged that man later turned possessive and violent, started verbally abusing her and eventually she became a victim of domestic violence as he hit her. Sapna decided to walk out of the four month old marriage when he raised his hands on her. Her third marriage was to Indian model Sameer Malhotra which also ended in a divorce within a year and Sapna says it ended because of her. She also used to be romantically involved with a Mumbai based singer-songwriter Arijit

Struggling to establish herself in Mumbai initially did job as a hairdresser for a salon called Juice and started working as Bollywood stylist .Eventually her business continued to flourish and she opened her first hair salon, called Mad-O-Wot growing from a small location now have expanded to a two floor area. Sapna worked on Project Unite, that attempted to re-record the Indian national anthem with a music video featuring common Indian people on the streets. “It’s a baby step for a (patriotic) change.” She participated in an Indian celebrity reality
TV show, Bigg Boss Season 6 hosted by Salman Khan. Her unannounced spurts of madness, controversies, conflicts with Salman Khan and the Bigg Boss team gained considerable attention and interest from the viewers .Being nominated for eviction for a total of eight times during her stay in the house. She was saved by the public vote seven times. On this platform
all she wanted to convey was that a 42 year old Indian woman can look like this, Cannot wear a sari, Cannot have the traditional long hair, not be married at 42, and not have kids, AND BE extremely happy. Collector of all things vintage, quirky and often obscure, hairstylist Sapna Bhavnani is not your regular hair stylist or fashion designer, she loves everything to

the tale has proved that ex-lovers can never be friends.Being a women, I can understand how much it takes to stand for truth with nobody by your side. A self-made star who lead her life with respect and won million hearts. Preity is not new to controversy. As in past, she has been vocal against many issues. But this controversy seems to have gone ugly because of her private life coming in limelight. Analysis of the issue considering her past controversy records, I would back her but seeing her career losing grip and almost fading away makes me skeptical.
With Ness Wadia allegations against Preity for fabricating stories and hogging the limelight can be a gist of the story. We all aware of what mediums and tools are used by faded actor to make a comeback. And that’s how it works in industry. When her last resort of acting in her self- produced film ’Ishq in Paris’ shattered. She might have found this more feasible act to perform dragging Ness along. He is a huge name and their relationship was unhidden. And I guess somewhere she was intelligent enough to realize nothing can be more highlighting and fetching than this. But on
humanitarian background, Ness Wadia came across as male chauvinistic pig if molestation charges are believed to be true. Nobody gives a right to any man in this universe to manhandle a lady even if she is his wife, girlfriend or daughter. I stand for the protecting dignity and image of a women who dared to stand against humanitarian background, Ness Wadia came across as male chauvinistic pig if molestation charges are believed to be true. The even worse thing is people making snide comments on the supposed victim and creating a mockery out of the issue by tagging it as #preitynessmess, matter of sour grapes, publicity stunt and much more. ‘Obnoxious’ is how I would like to tag it. I find Preity’s attitude a bit laidback in enlightening about the tragedy. She would have raised her voice when it all began. I feel somewhere
camouflaging the matter to keep things at peace for long was wrong. It was like inviting the worse yourself. In a way things are going against her, a minor move by her is crucified. Guess India putting women at blame list for assaults would probably never stop. Regardless of who gets justice, who is lying, I chose to stand against Ness Wadia. More power and respect to Preity for setting a great example of an independent and liberalized woman, who believe in speaking for her rights. It takes abundance of courage for women to speak up in male centric world but women like MS Zinta proves that it just takes confidence and self belief.
