Design Philosophy At Khosla Associates, we are contextualists who believe that architecture should be rooted in one’s environment and to a particular site. After walking through a particular site we always like to ask ourselves – What building does this site really want to see? While we work with an international style, we draw inspiration from traditional concepts, craft as well as local material. We interpret the same with a contemporary design approach. Our design is experiential and attempts to modulate space to create beautiful, peaceful or dramatic spaces. There is a certain romanticism to our work, a narrative quality that leads the viewer into varied experiences, and we enjoy creating work which references the old, has a hint of nostalgia while being wholly innovative. Living in a tropical environment, our architecture is climate sensitive and the relationship between built form and the external environment constant. We work in a hands-on way working closely to customize solutions with our collaborators. The process of making is sometimes as rewarding as the process of conceiving. We look at design holistically often blurring the boundaries between the disciplines of architecture, interior design, landscape, furniture and lighting.


During my six months of my experience in Khosla associates, I have worked upon many different projects giving me insights from all the different kinds of projects. It has been my pleasure to be part of such a diverse firm with multicultural architects around me. The firm helped me learn in a architectural and interior both kinds of works. From producing the detail drawings, concept design, site communication It has been a very learning experience for me and I and greatful for this opportunity where i have grown into a more responsible person. This is a high-end residential project. The survey plan showing land is in L-shape. Two sides are an existing residential building. On the side, there is Four single heightened structure. 5.5-meter setback given at the entrance for ramp and landscape, As per bye-laws. 5 meter At last we Praposed L-shape building for that building plinth area is 4511 Sq. ft. = 2308 Sqm.

Client Brief They are Famous Jewelers owner called Bhima jewelers from Banglore. He and his wife have 4 children. All wanted a separate house for them. All have different requirements for the water body, guest room, library, Tv room, etc. Also, they wanted many green spaces with all amenities like swimming pool, gym, theater room, bar, spa room.

01 Design Proposal - 1 Unit Intent At the center, we placed the service core. At the bottom, we placed the Parking area & Servant rooms with the need for services. Both sides we placed 2-2 double story units. On the fourth floor, we placed the parents unit and terrace floor with we placed a swimming pool, bar and other amenities. Brief This is the final design presentation of the proposal - 2 that the client selected. In this, we add exposed concrete box windows for rain and sunlight protection. We add a fullheight frame for door & windows to let morning sunlight come into each floor. These exposed fins treat as structural elements and where were we need balcony with exposed concrete. We add another layer of cladding material is Peterson brick for the cool down temperature of the building. All balcony has a good plantation area. Near living room and dining area has a double-height garden balcony.

Brief Here is the material palette for the building. We used other elements like Pergola, Waterbody, Vertical louvers, Box windows for building looks good. At the inner courtyard, there are double-height spaces. Also at the terrace floor has a nice sunset view from the swimming pool.

After the presentation, we decided on the consultant. Mainly there is a Structural consultant, MEP consultant, and others for Brick cladding, Door-Window fitting. For construction start design development stage in that interact with the consultant. Step by step we made drawing for the basement to terrace floor plan with needed drawings for construction. Small Open Air Theater Kinder Garden School designed By Roger Anger Auroville was born of the will to make an independent international land, which rules and dreams would be reflected in the way people live, educate, share... and build. In association from the early ages with the French architect Roger Anger, the first constructions of Auroville have been the result of architectural experimentation, at the border of what would become a city, more related to the domain of artistic sculpture than architecture.

Auroville Town Hall designed By Anupama Kundoo The challenge was to create an urban feeling with only three buildings that would attract the further development of this area, contributing to the character of the city to come. The attempt was to demonstrate the language of the interconnecting elements between the buildings in such a way that the urban character would be compact built spaces interspersed with service areas and public circulation.
