Reviews "Hide and Snoop" is the 7th in the Odelia Grey mystery series. She is now married to Greg and still working as a paralegal but not sure for how long.
Changes are being made and she senses that she's on the shortlist as far as her job is concerned. When her boss brings her 3 year old niece (Lily) to her office, tells her to take care of her and then disappears, Odelia's life becomes very complicated. How can she hold on to her job? How can she take care of Lily? She knows absolutely nothing about children. Where is Erica (her boss)? And what about Lily's parents? Odelia Grey is a great character. She's someone you can easily picture yourself being best friends with. She's funny and bright. She's loving, caring, curious and very, very human. She sometimes does stupid things but all for the right reasons. I enjoyed her. As if Odelia isn't a good enough reason to love the book, Lily is an absolute darling. The opening and ending paragraphs are classic. Enjoy!!!!!. ================================================== his is the latest in a wonderful mystery series and the best yet! Odelia Grey is someone we'd all like to know in real life, and, as this story starts off, she's having a hard time at work. The law firm where she works has undergone more change than endurable, and it feels like the last straw when her boss callously disrespects her and takes advantage of her. Odelia is flabbergasted when the woman who is her boss demands that Odelia take care of the woman's niece. The little girl is only 3 and shows signs of neglect. Odelia has a big heart and, even though the little girl is a burden at first (Odelia must watch after her while still tending to her work duties), Odelia soon grows fond of her. Odelia's relationship with the little girl is a big part of this story and very endearing. Awkward at first, Odelia gradually, and often comically, figures out how to look after this sweet little girl. Another element of the story is a new employee at the law firm who becomes Odelia's rival. This guy comes on as "the cocky competitor" causing Odelia anxiety over her job and eventually suspicion as the mystery progresses. But
what I love about Odelia is that she never lets anyone get under her skin. She is always lots of fun but also kind of tough. She makes the best of life.
