Fete back on village diary

TICKNALL’S May Day Fete will be coming back to the village next month – after being so successful in 2022 that all stallholder places are already sold out!

This is the third year that the village fete is being held, with this year ’s occasion taking place on Bank Holiday Monday, May 1, from 11am to 4pm

Organisers say they are hoping this year ’s event will be even bigger and better than last year ’s, which was attended by around 2,000 people

Laura Cain, who is on the organising committee, said: “All the stallholders said they wanted to come back and signed up last year We’ve had hundreds of emails –we’ve sold out, there has been so much interest ”

To cater for large crowds going to Ticknall for the event, fete organisers said they were pleased to announce having secured additional field space for car parking on the day

Bria Adlington, on the organising committee, said: “Following on from the success of last year we as a team have worked hard to secure additional parking to ease the traffic flow through Ticknall

“We’ve managed to acquire this thanks to generous support from local landowners ”

The fete is mainly a fund-raiser for Dame

Catherine’s School but it also benefits local charities which have stalls there

The school is independent but a registered charity and has regular fund-raising events
