ABOUT M E This page is a visual biography that shows what has influenced my passion for architecture. Born and raised on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, my education system was very different and focused mainly on an appreciation of the environment and ways to care for it. When I moved to France, my vision of architecture changed drastically. Prior to that time, I had never experienced the magic and awe grounded in large monuments and cathedrals. It is at this time my passion for architecture truly began. Amongst other things, I have come to realize that architecture provides not only a ‘shelter’, but also plays a role in improving mental and physical health, conveys a narrative, and has the power to evoke an emotional response.

Urban Jungle, Jungle Urban A co-living space that brings the outside in
Urban Jungle, Jungle Urban is a co-living development that requires natural elements to function. The natural elements provide daily shade, control ventilation and improve air quality on the site. Without these attributes, the buildings would not be able to meet human comfort requirements. The distinctive feature of this project is that the position of the buildings was determined in relation to its immediate surroundings. Major trees were preserved, then the locations of the buildings were defined. The project is designed to preserve biodiversity, so that humans can live in symbiosis with their environment.
The facade panels provide appropriate shading and create habitat for beekeeping. The development highlights various types and sizes of buildings offering macro and micro community spaces. One group of buildings has access to a large shared green space, while the second group approaches shared space differently as only small micro gardens are shared with their adjacent dwellings. Natural elements are therefore used in this case to enhance communication and connection between neighbors. They become managers of space.

Ember Pavilion A pavilion of dancing light
Ember Pavilion is designed to evoke wonder and awe. It is a friendly and relaxing place where visitors can participate in many activities across the site. The greatest animation of the site is the light show that takes place throughout the day and night when the pavilion reflects on the ground. The atmospheres between night and day are completely different. During the day, the pavilion is lit by a warmer light that gives the site a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The small streams of water surrounding the pavilion help to create this human scaled environment. At night, the pavilion sets a completely different mood - the atmosphere is much more dramatic and impressive. The pavilion and its vegetation are illuminated by a gradient of red lights that are reflected throughout the site. The fire in the middle of the pavilion further accentuates this aspect. So one can imagine a family with their children playing on site. They jump from one stream to another and play with the framing of views created by the curves of the pavilion.

The Library & The City
The Library in the City
A library within and without the city.
LEVEL 4 AMPHITHEATRE & RELAX SPACE
A library is a place dedicated to fantasies, mystical places and far flung lands contained in the pages of books, allowing you to travel without boundaries, and the physical need to move around. In order to recreate this magical place this project focuses on the use of light. The reflection of light will bring people to interact in a playful way with their environment. At night, the bright light of the library will illuminate the streets with a warm yellow glow that will bring security to the community and create a place for pedestrians to express and expand their imagination. The use of diverse combinations of light and vegetation forms a space for people to escape from the complexities of the real world. The structure of the library was created to enhance the experience of users as they walk through the doors of the building. On the ground floor, the brick wall is non-load-bearing and designed to produce an optical illusion. The columns are the only structures used to support the facade. From the inside, it seems that the facade floats just above the wall and gives a light feeling to the building. The playfulness of the streets-cape continues within the physical envelope.

Construction Design VCASS Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School
The Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School is a unique building renowned for its urban setting and educational facilities. The VCASS building occupies a 3500m2 site on two floors in Melbourne’s arts district in Southbank, Melbourne, Australia. A set of architectural and engineering drawings of the building was provided to create digital model of a 4m x 6m section highlighting the construction technology and detailed design characteristics of the building. Throughout the process it was essential to understand how the choices of construction affected the design cost, quality, program and time.

The flow of the curve & The framing of the view
The Living House is a challenging renovation of a single-storey house within a narrow and long block. This elongated and tight house receives little to no natural light, making it relatively uncomfortable to live in. Narrow hallways that block the visibility of the space are another concern in this type of house. This delicate block of land prompts the need to find alternative ways to design space to bring light into each room. A
The creation of an inner courtyard is a way to solve the two frequent problems encountered in this type of block. Doing so, maximizes the access to natural light, improves ventilation and air quality, and provides a warmer atmosphere for the occupants. The corridor passes alongside the interior courtyard, so it does not appear as a long and dark path to cross. Instead, the corridor will appear as a charming niche where you can stop to read a book and enjoy the peaceful environment that the natural elements offer. B

Graphic design was more of a hobby than a job at first. What excites and captivates me is that graphic design is so broad that one can tackle almost any topic by constantly exploring new ways of designing, both digitally and physically. It also helps me improve my graphic skills in general and pushes me to discover Photoshop and Illustrator in greater depth. Having a specific goal to achieve and meeting a client’s high expectations has helped me pursue quality and speed when editing. I still have a lot to learn, but the idea of projecting ideas into something visually pleasing has always captivated me.
