Architecture is enduring an obvious revolution in the discourse between aesthetics and form-making, gradually less concerned due to the discussion between gender, sexuality and space performances. 'Structuring the Tradition: Reinventing the New Queer Space for the Contemporary Society ' is written by Kian-Lek Choi for his Bachelor Degree's Dissertation in University of Greenwich, London. To reflect the ethos of the queer space theory, the chosen LGBTQ’s colour palette gradually shifts from pages to pages. As a result, the gradient beautifully exposes through the edge and backbone of the book. Each book was binded meticulously by hand with kettle-stitching method.

The ambition of this document is to illustrate a detailed report start from building context, delivery, construction and performance of Vauxhall Community Centre in Lambeth borough, London for Vauxhall One Business Improvement District (BID). As so, based on the client’s ambitious in changing Vauxhall to a new vibrant place, the design proposal continues to respond, reflect and contribute to the queer history, culture and heritage, integrated with fabrication technology with modern building material selection will be demonstrated in building construction section. The layout design experiments with typography to showcase the bold side of queer community. Besides that, the presented report still exudes professional architecture ethos without compromising aesthetics of editorial design.
The debossed title brings an extra layer of aesthetics to the finish.

In 2016, I joined a 2-day zine design workshop organised by Tien Tien Circle Creatives at Goethe-Institut. The brief given was rather free which is about a zine dedicated to Taipei city and we could explore any theme that are related to this vibrant city. There were 9 groups of participants and each group was formed by 2 to 3 members. My team came up with the idea of circulation which depicts the flow of the crowd in the city as Taipei is well-known as a city of wanderers (people came from other counties to work in Taipei). We applied a metaphor of blood circulation by storytelling, conveying the message of fixing an over-crowded urban space. Finally, we won the FIRST prize for this zine workshop!

Well-known Taiwanese’s director Ang Lee once talked about the quality of Taiwan’s media. Taiwan’s media organizations’ failure to provide sufficient high-quality international news could be a result of their lack of vision, as news outlets focus only on trivial and sensational stories to attract high ratings, media insiders said. ‘Oh Liar Non Daily’ aims to discover more important topics for readers. For the zine, each selected lame news is accompanied with important related info. Meanwhile, the calendar is marked with some upcoming international or local agendas to remind the users about the importance of reading useful news in the world.

Due to the shallow roots, Yoken tea trees can only absorb the surface water. But the surface water easily evaporates, tea trees always suffer from lacking of water. In order to improve the this phenomenon, Yoken’s farmers drill the ground to deliever air and water to the bottom of the root. Due to non-pesticide, green cicadas can coexist with the tea garden ecology, tea has a unique bio-fermentation opportunities, then it will produce a unique flavor. Eventually, it support green ecology for a sustainable agriculture development.

Social design exhibition is a tradition for the Yuntech’s Visual Communication Design students. Concerned about this piece of land, we strongly believe that design can change the community development in Taiwan, so we decided to get out of the campus. Through the curation and exhibition, all the students can effectively focus on the same design issues. The responsibility of the visual design group is to lead the other groups into the Chiayi Alishan “Laiji tribe”, in-depth observation of daily life to the indigenous tribe as a service location, to create a better design experience.
From a number of field surveys, we realised that we need to remind of people about the rural area development. The visual design group put much effort to find the tribal visual image and apply it to the main visual design. The results of the interaction between the boot camp and the tribe’s people will be presented as a theme. “A veo veo yu Laiji” is the theme of this exhibition, “a veo veo yu” means “Hello” for the Zou tribe. The exhibition is divided into five spectrums: Cultural Education, Environmental Visual, Hammavana, the Guardian of the Craft, andTribal Trip. The exhibition presents a more diverse perspective to let the audience feel the unique culture of the tribe and think about the possibility of new development for the tribe , bringing a sense of cultural identity.

The subject of the design research was “Chinese Duo-Pek-Kong” dream book which has been popular for more than half a century in Malaysia. It is also a folk symbol over generations among the gamblers of Malaysian Chinese. The purpose of the study was to trace the history of “Cheefah” which is a traditional lottery game originated from China and it was brought to Malaya during the 18th century. The project picked a series of products as medium and ‘Blossoming Numbers’ was given as a brand name. The outcome included a board game, an illustrative book and red packet design. It is hoped that these creative product design would show the cultural characteristics of the dream book and traditional “Cheefah” to enable today’s youngsters experiencing this folk culture and then achieve sustainability of traditional culture.
(Blossoming Numbers), 「

In Cingjing* mountains, there is a place hailed as “Utopia in the Fog” - home of the veterans’ descendants. They are groups of minorities from Mainland China’s southwest border; a group of people who seem to have been forgotten with the lapse of time. In 1949, KMT (Kuomintang) lost the Chinese Civil War and was defeated by CPC (Communist Party of China). Chiang Kai-shek retreated to Taiwan with two million soldiers, government officers, and citizens. Before they came, there were less than six million citizens in Taiwan. Suddenly, the 2 million soldiers, government officers and citizens had to find places to stay and find some ways to survive in this island. The people from Yunnan were distributed in Cingjing area. In this ever-changing day and age, they have to strive hard to maintain their dignity and self-respect as well as keep their way of life. The unique culture of this assimilation process gradually rooted in Cingjing, Taiwan.

Name typography series were my early work in National Yunlin University of Science and Technology. The brief of the assignment was design three different typography based on our full Chinese name. I explored three different visual styles that suit my personality. Before getting into digital tools, I sketched the typography on a grid paper. The outcome of this series is quite fascinating, especially the one with an oriental style which depicts my root as an Asian who has grown up in a traditional Chinese family.

Margaret Howell is a contemporary British clothing designer who has worked successfully in men’s and women’s clothing. Howell has been a strong, if quiet, presence in British design for over four decades. After graduating from a fine art degree at Goldsmiths’ College, London in 1969, Howell started making accessories. Her hand -made beads and knitted accessories came to the attention of Vogue and other fashion magazines, encouraging her to go onto designing clothes. 86 87
