2112 ai xTreme_studio Team Supervisors: Tom Kovac, Michael Mei Our brief is to create a Spacelab programme in deep space. Through investigating space theories and predicting phenomena in deep space, we have developed architecture through conjecture, developing the possibility for human habitation and evolution over time. The NEXUS project describes an evolving self-propagating living organism designed to adapt and evolve exponentially in the conditions of space. Cosmic radiation for growth and the search for water/moisture/H2O for survival played an important role to advise and influence an evolving form.

Lest We Forget Team Supervisors: Mark Raggatt and Tim Pyke In a studio interested in the themes of death and investigated the symbolism and monumentalism that spawned from this concept. The studio is currently on-going and will begin to design a skyscraper in Melbourne CBD. Readings of ‘Delerious New York’ by Rem Koolhaas supported these themes of monument and ‘BIGNESS’. Weekly physical models were made where my buildings were the CCTV Beijing, Monument to Baron Louis-Felix de Beajour - Paris and Douaumont ossuary - Scotland.

eVolo - Pathfinder Competition: Ray Chan, Wayne Ching, Johnny Gian, Kieran Lai This project was submitted into eVolo with the theme of raising awareness of the visually impaired, by designing a monumental skyscraper in Indonesia. This tower would be a multi-purpose hub for the disabled utilizing acoustic sounds and textile materials to guide the disabled. The skyscraper is approached with bridged connections across the city to maintain safety and guidance of the citizens.

420 Flinders Street is a commercial / mixed use office building I was involved with in 2013, completed in October. The facade features a pattern of vertical sunblades, attributing to the 5 Star Green Star rating of the building. One of my main design involvements with the project are the stairs, where I saw through the process of cladding design through to construction.

Legacy Mode

Arkhefield is currently in collaboration with ARM and Archipelago bid for the CGV in the Gold Coast. The main objective in the brief is for the teams to design in two modes: Games Mode and Legacy Mode. Where the Games Mode refers to the period where the athletes will use the village for a period of six months. The Legacy Mode refers to the remainder of the building’s lifespan AFTER the Games Mode, where proposals are created to serve more permanent purposes. - Diagram describing the ‘big’ organisational moves for the site.
