HOUSTON

Come to the country and find antique treasures under the trees and in an historic German Turnverein that

has been the center of social activities since 1879. Built to promote physical, spiritual and social life, the Turnverein provided the all male members with a place to practice their sport called Tureining similar to present day chinning the bar. By the 1930’s the practice had ended and the Turnverein became a meeting place on Sundays and hosted social functions such as dances. The 1902 original dance hall is a fine example of construction methods the Germans brought with them from their homeland including a rare arch-type ceiling not typical for structures of this kind and not like others that are still standing. This building could tell us much about the life of the people living along the Fayette and Washington county line. Decendants of the original charter families and members of the community are dedicated to the preservation of this architectural and historic “jewel” so it may continue to serve the community for many years to come. The Turnverein is the perfect setting for La Bahia Antiques Show for dealers and collectors. This year, March 28 to April 5 are the dates for the Show & Sale. Some of the 80+ dealers will be setting up outside under the beautiful old trees. These dealers will offer quite a variety of merchandise such as Garden Architectural Items, Painted Furniture, Oriental Statues, Advertising, Shabby Chic, Collectibles and Re-purpose Items and Wagons. Inside the hall, Flow Blue, American Primitives, Victorian, English Antiques, American and European Linens, Stoneware, Vintage & Estate Jewelry, Elegant Glass, Silver Sets, Clocks, Vintage Lamps and Toys, Quilts, Folk Art, American Stoneware, Oak Furniture, French Antiques & much more will be offered for sale to many of the eager buyers. Porcelain restoration at the show. Those who are looking for a particular item enjoy a country atmosphere, history, and the aroma of wonderful food cooking in the outside kitchen area, and are interested in seeing an unusual architectural building should make plans to visit the La Bahia Show. La Bahia is located 15 miles west of Brenham, Texas on Hwy. 290 W, 1/4 mile left on Texas 237. The location is only 7 miles from Round Top. Since the neighboring towns are also holding antique shows and sales on these same dates, this area is the place to be.

Shop THE OLD DEPOT during Texas Antique Week! HOWARD KONETZKE announces the 39th OLD DEPOT ANTIQUE SHOW and the 7th OLD DEPOT GLASS SHOW. Since its first show, THE OLD DEPOT has become known as “The place where the other dealers buy” and has also earned the reputation as “One stop shopping for glass collectors”. Among the many returning dealers will be long-time OLD DEPOT dealer, DICK TRACY of Caldwell, Kansas, who brings primitives, petroliana, gas pumps and over 300 pairs of spurs. Also returning will be INDIAN CREEK ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES from Seguin, TX, with over 1000 pieces of Sterling Silver, silverplate and stainless flatware to replace your lost pieces or complete your service. THE FOXE’S DEN, which is owned by DENNIS FOXWORTHY from Edmond, OK, who says he is “one of the better looking dealers”, will be back with his usual selection of fishing collectibles, vintage toys, paper collectibles, wooden boxes and trunks, and COUNTRY ANTIQUES, of Broken Arrow, OK will be there again with oak furniture, fishing collectibles, advertising items, old toys, coins and restored metal lawn furniture. THE OLD DEPOT GLASS SHOW will be there for the seventh time with a large number of glass dealers from across the nation, making the show one stop shopping for glass collectors who no longer have to visit all 59 area shows in hopes of finding a dealer with their specific pattern. THE OLD DEPOT GLASS SHOW will feature glass from all periods of American history, from Early American Pattern Glass to the latest glassware from modern houses like Blenko and Fenton. Early American Pattern glass will be offered by MARILYN & EDDIE

ARNOLD, of Beaumont, TX; JACK PEACOCK, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, will have the largest selection of hard to find Elegant Glass from many companies like Tiffin, Cambridge, Heisey, Fostoria and others, as well as the largest selection of candelabras in all of Antique Week. ELMER & SUNNY SHEELY, of Oklahoma City, OK, will have a huge booth full of glass, specializing in Fostoria American and a lot of trains from Lionel, Marx and American Flyer. ENID WASKA, of Flatonia, TX will have a booth of glass specializing in Imperial’s Candlewick as well as a selection of Wave Crest and furniture. Back for their second show will be DAVE & LINDA ADAMS from Las Vegas, Nevada, specializing in elegant glass from Cambridge, and a huge lot of stems, and also returning for their second show will be DALE & LINDA RIENDEAU, better known as “Linda’s Caravan", from Grand Rapids, Minnesota, with a whole booth full of Depression Glass, Elegant Glass, Fiesta, children’s books, pictures and pottery. THE OLD DEPOT has FREE ADMISSION, FREE PARKING, clean restrooms and an air conditioned restaurant for your shopping pleasure and is wheelchair accessible. It's open until 9 on Friday nights during the show and don’t forget to to ask about the free chili on the last Friday of the show. LOOKING GLASS PRODUCTIONS - GLASS SHOW Looking Glass Productions announces the event of the 1st annual Austin Looking Glass Show/Sale Extravaganza to be held at the Travis County Expo Center, 7311 Decker Lane, Austin, TX 78724 on Saturday February 8, 2014 from 10-5 and Sunday February 9, 2014 from 11-4. We were formerly in San Antonio and due to sale of the building where we held the show we have had to make the decision to move the to Austin.
