All the collector has to do is go to the National Depression Glass Association’s website www.ndga.net, and in the “MENU� area in the upper left corner, click on “Contact us�. On the screen that appears, click on “I would like help with glass identification�, enter your name and email address and attach a photo of the piece you’d like identified. Your inquiry will be forwarded to one of our many volunteers, each of whom specializes in a specific glassware field such as Early American Pattern Glass, Depression Glass, Elegant Glass, etc. Since these are volunteers, please keep in mind that it might take a few days for them to research your glassware and send a response. Since its first show, THE OLD DEPOT has become known as “The place where the other dealers buy�. Among the many returning long - time dealers will be INDIAN CREEK ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES from Seguin, TX, with over 1,000 pieces of Sterling Silver, silverplate and stainless flatware to replace your lost pieces or complete your service. THE FOXES’ DEN, from Edmond, OK, will be there with their usual selection of fishing collectibles, vintage toys, paper collectibles, wooden boxes and trunks. COUNTRY ANTIQUES, of Broken Arrow, OK will be there again with oak furniture, fishing collectibles, advertising items, old toys, coins and restored metal lawn furniture, and BETTY COOK, of Ledbetter, Texas will be back for her third appearance with an eclectic collection of unusual items. The Old Depot Glass Show will be there for the sixth time with a large number of glass dealers from across the nation, making the show one stop shopping for glass collectors who no longer have to visit all 57 area shows in hopes of finding a dealer with their specific pattern. The Old Depot Glass Show will feature glass from all periods of American history, from Early American Pattern Glass to the latest glassware from modern houses like Blenko and Fenton. Early American Pattern Glass will be offered by MARILYN & EDDIE ARNOLD, of Beaumont, TX; JACK PEACOCK, of Winston-Salem, North

Carolina,will have the largest selection of hard to find Elegant Glass from many companies like Tiffin, Cambridge, Heisey, Fostoria and others, as well as the largest selection of candelabras in all of Antique Week. Returning for their fifth show at THE OLD DEPOT, will be Jack’s son, MATT PEACOCK and his wife MARISSA, who claim their home is wherever they park their travel trailer, will also bring Elegant Glassware from many companies. ELMER and SUNNY SHEELY, of Oklahoma City, OK, will have a huge booth full of glass, specializing in Fostoria American. ENID WASKA, of Flatonia, TX will have a booth of glass specializing in Imperial’s Candlewick as well as a selection of Wave Crest and JEAN & DON WELCH, from Knippa, TX, who will be doing their last show before retirement, will bring a big selection of Cambridge and Depression glass. THE OLD DEPOT has FREE ADMISSION, FREE PARKING, clean restrooms and an air conditioned restaurant for your shopping pleasure and is wheelchair accessible. Come to the country

and find antique treasures under the trees and in an historic German Turnverein that has been the center of social activities since 1879. Built to promote physical, spiritual and social life, the Turnverein provided the all male members with a place to practice their sport called Tureining similar to present day chinning the bar. By the 1930’s the practice had ended and the Turnverein became a meeting place on Sundays and hosted social functions such as dances. The 1902 original dance hall is a fine example of construction methods the Germans brought with them from their homeland including a rare arch-type ceiling not typical for structures of this kind and not like others that are still standing. This building could tell us much about the life of the people living along the Fayette and Washington county line. Decendants of the original charter families and members of the community are dedicated to the preservation of this architectural and historic “jewel” so it may continue to serve the community for many years to come. The Turnverein is the perfect setting for La Bahia Antiques Show for dealers and collectors. This year, September 27 to October 5 are the dates for the Show & Sale. Some of the 80+ dealers will be setting up outside under the beautiful old trees. These dealers will offer quite a variety of merchandise such as Garden Architectural Items, Painted Furniture, Oriental Statues, Advertising, Shabby Chic, Collectibles and Re-purpose Items and Wagons. Inside the hall, Flow Blue, American Primitives, Victorian, English Antiques, American and European Linens, Stoneware, Vintage & Estate Jewelry, Elegant Glass, Silver Sets, Clocks, Books, Vintage Lamps and Toys, Quilts, Folk Art, American Stoneware, Oak Furniture, Bronze & much more will be offered for sale to many of the eager buyers. Porcelain restoration at the show. Those who are looking for a particular item enjoy a country atmosphere, history, and the aroma of wonderful food cooking in the outside kitchen area, and are interested in seeing an unusual architectural building should make plans to visit the La Bahia Show. La Bahia is located 15 miles west of Brenham, Texas on Hwy. 290 W, 1/4 mile left on Texas 237. The location is only 7 miles from Round Top. Since the neighboring towns are also holding antique shows and sales on these same dates, this area is the place to be.
