n 1954, with the creation of its first diver’s watch, the Oyster Prince Submariner, TUDOR began offering a new time keeping solution for the growing community of professional scuba divers. The brand, a pioneer in the field of diving watches proposed a high-performance instrument, that was reliable as well as robust, at an affordable price. In 1969, the reference 7016 introduced a new aesthetic in the brand’s range that became the signature of TUDOR diving watches. A combination of square indexes, painted with luminous material, and angular hands later nicknamed “Snowflake” by collectors because of the similarity to the form of a snowflake. This new design allowed for more luminous material to be applied to the dials and hands, thus resulting in a longer duration of illumination, a key improvement for the French Navy divers. In 1974, the reference 7016 was also the first TUDOR diving watch to bear the famous “TUDOR M.N.” engravings. Composed of the initials M.N. and the year of issue in numbers, these markings have reached close to iconic status and are sought after relentlessly by collectors of military watches. In the ‘80 they adopted the reference 94010.

mega introduced its first Speedmaster chronograph in 1957, registered under the reference CK2915, the same year as the Railmaster and the Seamaster 300 models. From 1962, NASA acquired several chronographs from famous manufacturers such as Rolex, Hamilton, Longines and Omega. It is only two years later that an official call for tenders is launched. Becoming the symbol of the space conquest, the choice of the Speedmaster was therefore the fruit of a long reflection and heavy specifications from NASA. Following this heavy heritage, few of the limited editions bring such envy and excitement to collectors as the Apollo Soyuz. Indeed, in July 1975 the USA and the Soviet Union, putting aside their political conflicts, carried out jointly the first international space mission. This was one of the strongest symbol of “détente” during the Cold War. Few months later, the famous Omega Italian dealer, Fratelli De Marchi, ordered a limited edition of 500 Speedmaster timepieces to commemorate this major event, numbered xxx from 0 to 499. The Apollo-Soyuz series were based on the legendary 145.022 – which was the first Speedmaster to use the caliber 861, which replaced the revered caliber 321 from the very first models – but featured a slightly modified case and a dial personalized with the Apollo-Soyuz logo. De Marchi became responsible for the whole distribution of Omega watches throughout Italy in 1921. Even if their partnership ended in 1970s, it is milestone in the watchmaking history, since this retailer was originally behind the very first limited series in steel in the brand history.

P

robably one of the most iconic references ever made by Rolex, the 6200 was the most resistant dive watch offered by the firm with a large 8mm crown and a depth resistance of 200m. With increasing worries concerning the radiation emitted by the radioactive material such as the famous recall of the 6542 bakelite bezels, the same concerns applied to early Submariners as well. Fitted with a gilt dial but with the mention t-25 added to the dial, it appears that Rolex at some point replaced the radium with tritium as well as the hands and simply added the mention on the dial (while removing the radium) rather than changing the entire dial.

eference 25654 replaced the first Royal Oak Perpetual calendar reference 25554 in 1987 and was produced until 1998 in 315 piecesin steel, 430 pieces in yellow gold, 68 pieces in steel and yellow gold and 38 in platinum. It differs from its sibling for a slightly thicker case thickness (8.25mm vs the 7.5mm of ref. 25554) meant to improve its water resistance capabilities. When the beauty and rarity of the “Sapphire Blue Yves Klein” dial merges with the collectability and historical appeal of a “no leap year” perpetual calendar Royal Oak, one knows without a doubt that one is in the presence of a wristwatch that is as eminently collectible as it is strikingly charming.

his Vintage and rare watch was born in France; created by Dodane and assembled in Switzerland, it was supplied to fighter pilots of the French “Air Force”. This special chronograph was expressly produced on technical needs of the French Ministry of Defense with the fly-back chrono function. The watch was in fact able to compensate for the failure of the on-board devices that were used by the pilot as a navigation tool. t’s taken some time, but the Patek Philippe Aquanaut has become sought after by watch collectors – especially in steel. Heavily inspired by the design of the Nautilus but with some key differences, Patek Philippe made no secret that it had specifically created this watch for a new and younger sporty clientele. And it certainly seemed to play well with that audience. In many ways, the Ref. 5066 can be thought of as the second generation of the original Ref. 5060. It kept the same 36mm case and the same self-winding Caliber 330 SC but introduced a sapphire caseback.

udemars Piguet Royal is considered the myth of sport watches. Everything started in the early 1970s from the hands of the revolutionary designer Gerald Genta. He developed a monoblock case featuring an octagonal bezel securely installed by eight hexagonal screws and the well recognaizable petit taspisserie dial with its dark gray color. While today the Royal Oak has become a legend, back in the 70s it was more than a bet, it was a true visionary revolution, the pioneer of what is today’s most successful style of wristwatch: luxury sport watch in steel. The present Royal Oak 5402BC manufactured in 18K white gold features the classic gray tapisserie dial with stunning diamonds indexes and thin hands which is the signature of Royal Oaks made in precious materials. This example is one of the first produced in 1972 for instance on the caseback engraved the N°142. Worthy of note are also the rounded diamond indexes which are truly an elegant touch to sportive wristwatch. Produced in very small quantities, this reference is one of the solely 149 estimated to have been manufactured by the Brand.. The Royal Oak 5402 BC comes with a document from Audemars Piguet’s special program called “Classic Parts” in which it is mentioned and analyzed as amazing as well as an extremely rare Royal Oak. It even claims the authenticity of it.

Of course, one of the revolutionary creations of the master Gérald Genta in the 1970s. nstantly recognisable for its colorful bezel, the history of the Rolex GMT starts in the 50s when, in North America there was an increasing number of transatlantic flights. During that time, the Pan-American airlines was looking for an extremely reliable tool watch that would allow its pilots to keep track of two different time zones in a clear and easy way. As the reference 6542 was considered a “tool watch” the majority were cased in stainless steel, with very few examples of the first generation models cased in gold. One of the most notable features of the present lot is the dark red/brown-colored Bakelite bezel. The date disc has also developed a cream color which perfectly matches with the patina on lumes and hands. The charm and beauty of the present Rolex is timeless as well as its rarity, especially in these conditions.

he Rolex Oyster Chronograph ref. 6034, produced in the early 1950s stands out for its popularity with celebrities, and its precursor status to the further iconic Daytona. The ref. 6034 was particularly popular with pilots due to the inclusion of tachymeter and telemetry scales of different colors on the dial and for speed and distance measurement respectively. In addition, the watch has three counters at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock that display the constant seconds, thirty minutes and twelve hours. All of these features made it an excellent choice for motor racing drivers. This chronograph is powered by a manually wound movement with a caliber 72, and the chronograph functions are accessible via the two round pushers located on either side of the crown. Both the movement of the watch and the case, of diam. 37 mm, are antimagnetic and the back is screwed and water resistant.

he Rolex Submariner is considered an icon and one of the most recognisable designs among diver’s watches. The shapes and curves of this model had become a benchmark to which all modern watches take inspiration from. Its versatility guarantees a perfect wrist-fit for every occasion. The present submariner is the reference 1680, the first one among this model to introduce the date function visible throughout the cyclops lense. What’s incredible about this piece is the dial which has tropicalized over the years turning the color to a beautiful orange/caramel tone with some shades of purple. he perpetual calendar is considered the most fascinating and important complication among Royal Oak collections. This iconic timepiece does not show the leap year indicator, being part of the third series of Perpetual Calendar Royal Oak produced by the Brand. For instance, only 272 examples in steel are manufactured, making it a rare and collectable wristwatch. What makes this example even more special is the dial, which deserves to be the star of the scene. Perhaps unique, it maintains the well known tapisserie texture featuring an iridescent blue color defined by Audemars Piguet, within the “Certificate d’Authenticité”, as “Laqué” reported in the reference within code n. 06. The dial even features long indexes which makes it even more special.

n 1986 Patek Philippe launched a new generation of perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch, under the reference 3970 and a much rarer 3971. These models replaced the legendary ref.2499 introducing a Lemania base caliber. The reference 3971 was a transactional model introduced prior to all 3970 issued with the double caseback. Patek Philippe introduced the 3971 as a unique reference as the demand for display backs grew in the early 1990s indeed, the few examples manufactured under this reference were supplied only with a display back. This extremely rare and fine Patek Philippe perpetual calendar is preserved in excellent conditions and comes with its full set.

These estimates were made following expert opinions, tests, and other methods that Antiquorum in his sole discretion deemed appropriate in the circumstances. Antiquorum will not, however, incur any liability under any cause whatsoever in respect of estimates of the value of the lots. Each auction participant will be responsible for making his own estimate of the value of the lots put up for sale. B. LOTS STATUS All lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale with their imperfections and defects. No claims relating to customary restorations and small accidents will be possible. It is the responsibility of each future bidder to carefully examine each lot before the sale and to refer to his own judgement in order to take note of its characteristics and its possible repairs or restorations. No claims will be accepted once the adjudication has been pronounced. Antiquorum can provide interested parties with a detailed report on the condition of the lots. In addition, lots may be examined before the sale at the times listed in the catalogue. Any lot sold at auction may be affected by the export laws of the country in which it is sold and the import restrictions of other countries. Many countries require an export declaration for goods leaving the country and / or an import declaration upon entry of the goods into the country. Local laws may prevent you from importing a lot or prevent you from selling a lot in the country into which you are importing

it. Please note that gold of less than 18 carats is not considered to be gold in all countries and can therefore sometimes be refused to be imported into these countries under the name “gold”.

WATCHES AND CLOCKS (i) Almost all watches and clocks have undergone repairs and overhauls during their lifetime and may therefore possibly contain non-original parts. Antiquorum does not guarantee the authenticity of any component part of a watch or clock. The clocks can be sold without pendulums, weights or winding and time setting key. Pocket watches can also be sold without a key. (ii) Collector’s watches and clocks often have very fine and complex mechanisms, an overhaul, a battery change or another repair work may be necessary. The purchaser is responsible for this. Antiquorum does not guarantee the correct functioning of a watch or a clock. Certificates and boxes are not available unless they are described in the catalogue. (iii) Most watches and clocks have been opened to see the type and quality of the movement. For this reason, watches with waterresistant cases may not be water-resistant. It is recommended to have them checked by a competent watchmaker before use. JEWELS (i) Coloured gems (such as rubies, sapphires, emeralds, etc.) may have been treated to improve their appearance by methods such as heating or oiling. These methods are accepted by the international jewellery trade but may weaken the gem and / or require special care over time. (ii) All types of gemstones may have been improved by any method. There is no gemmological analysis report for every gemstone sold, meaning they have not been tested by a recognized laboratory). When there is a gemmological analysis report from an internationally recognised laboratory, it

is described in the catalogue. Due to differences in approach and technology, laboratories may disagree on whether a particular gemstone has been treated, the amount of treatment, or whether the treatment is permanent. The gemmological laboratories will only report on improvements or treatments known to the laboratories at the date of the report. (iii) For jewellery sales, estimates are based on the information contained in any gemmological analysis report or, if no report is available, assume that the gems may have been processed or improved C. DESCRIPTION OF THE LOTS Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the description of each lot in the catalogue, Antiquorum does not guarantee that such a description is perfectly accurate. Any statement, whether printed in the catalogue or not, in relation to, without limitation, the authenticity, provenance, origin, age, date, condition, estimated selling price, or quality of any lot, is only the assertion of an opinion and neither Antiquorum nor Deangelis will be liable for the accuracy of any opinion given.

2. AUCTION SALES A. BIDDING Prior to the sale, potential buyers are invited to visit Antiquorum to register by providing their contact details, identity (copy of a valid identity card or passeport) and bank guarantees. A bidder’s number will be given to all registered bidders. Anyone bidding during the sale is deemed to be acting on his or her own behalf and is therefore

General terms and conditions of sales personally liable. If you are bidding on behalf of a third party, it is essential that you notify Antiquorum by providing a power of attorney, which must be registered. The bidder acting on behalf of a third party is personally liable, in particular with regard to the obligations entered into within the context of the auction. This responsibility extends in particular to the verification of the quality of the lots purchased as well as the subsequent payment of the invoice for the lots purchased. If interested parties cannot attend the auction, it is possible to bid directly by telephone. It is necessary to come forward at least 24 hours before the sale in order to register your bidding request by telephone. Given the limited number of telephone lines, Antiquorum reserves the right not to accept a telephone auction request. Therefore, they may not be held liable, in particular in the event of technical malfunctions or omissions and errors relating to the registration of bids by telephone. In the event of absence at the time of the sale, interested parties may also place purchase orders (written bids). This is a free and confidential service. Antiquorum will be responsible for executing your purchase orders. It is the bidder’s responsibility to request written confirmation in order to ensure that his order has been properly registered prior to the sale. Without written confirmation, Antiquorum cannot be held liable for omissions or errors relating to the registration of purchase orders. Lots will be purchased at the best price respecting the reserve price and other bids. In the case of identical orders, the order received first will be preferred. High value lots (identified by Antiquorum at its sole discretion) may, unless otherwise agreed in advance, only be bid on by potential buyers who have completed a registration form for lots considered to be of high value. B. CONDUCT OF THE SALE The sale will be conducted in English but bids may be repeated in Italian or French. Auctions will be conducted in euros. As an indication, a currency converter at the rate of the day of the sale (or the previous working day) may be visible during the auctions. However, only the price in euros is authoritative. In the event that a minimum auction price, known as the “reserve price”, has been agreed between the seller and the auction house, the bailiff may bid in the name and on behalf of the latter until the reserve price has been reached. Antiquorum are entitled, at their own discretion, to withdraw, divide or group differently the lots forming part of the sale, as well as to refuse the adjudication of any of the said lots, and will not incur any liability as a result. Antiquorum reserve the right to refuse any bid at their own discretion. In the event of a dispute or any other matter relating to the bidders, the bailiff may, at his sole discretion, determine the winning bidder, continue the bidding, cancel the sale or re-offer and put the disputed item up for sale again. Its decision shall be recorded in

the minutes, which shall be authentic. The amount of the higher bids is, as a general rule, 10 %; however, the bailiff may modify the higher bids at any time, at his own discretion. The minimum bid amount is communicated during the auction. Antiquorum are authorised to reproduce the information provided by the successful bidder prior to the sale on the auction minutes and on the bidding form. Any false indication will engage the responsibility of the successful bidder. In the event that the successful bidder has not registered before the sale, he will have to communicate the necessary information as soon as the lot has been sold. C. RIGHT OF PRE-EMPTION In accordance with the law (Article 2-1 Law No. 1.014 of December 29, 1978), the Monegasque State has a right of pre-emption on works sold by public auction in the Principality of Monaco. The exercise of this right takes place immediately after the hammer blow. The pre-emption decision is brought to the attention of the bailiff, and the State then substitutes itself for the last bidder. The preemption is then mentioned in the minutes and must be confirmed within fifteen (15) days after the sale. In the absence of confirmation, the lot goes to the last bidder.

3. PAYMENT Ownership of the lots is transferred as soon as the bailiff’s hammer falls and the lot is awarded to the winning bidder. The buyer may not revoke his acceptance of any lot after the bailiff’s hammer has fallen. The purchaser hereby accepts all risks and responsibilities associated with the lot. In addition to the price of the final award, the successful bidder (buyer) shall pay the following commissions and taxes per lot and per degressive tranche: • From € 1.- to €500.000.- included: 30% VAT included (25% VAT excluded) • From €500.001 - to €5.000.000.- inclusive: 24% VAT included (20% VAT excluded) • For all amounts above €5.000.001 15% VAT included (12.5% VAT excluded) All lots collected in Milan or shipped to the European Union are subject to VAT (Value Added Tax) on commission. VAT on commission may be passed on to the successful bidder on presentation of proof of export outside the European Union for private or companies. As Antiquorum has opted for the VAT margin system, no documents showing VAT will be issued. Lots exported outside the European Union are not subject to VAT on commission. Local taxes and customs duties are the responsibility of

the successful bidder. These local taxes and customs duties must be paid directly at the time of delivery to the carrier in charge of dispatching the consignment. The successful bidder is responsible for the payment of all import and export duties and taxes applicable to the lots purchased. For users of the Invaluable auction platform, additional fees will be charged (5% of the auction price). Invoices are emailed to buyers within 48 hours of the sale. The buyer has a period of seven (7) days from the day of the sale to pay in full. Lots marked with an asterisk (*) are subject to 20% applied to the total amount including our commission (hammer price and commission). In addition 120€ closing costs for temporary importation will be invoiced to the purchaser. VAT will be fully retroceded upon presentation of an export declaration outside Europe validated by Monegasque administration. FOR PAYMENT, THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER MAY PAY IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS: • By transfer in euros to the Antiquorum Auctioneer s.r.l. account (any other currencywould involve additional costs payable by the purchaser). Payment will only be considered to have been made in full once Antiquorum has received the funds corresponding to the amount of the purchase price and the commission due. In the event of default by the purchaser in the payment of part or all of the purchase price for any lot, and if Antiquorum nevertheless chooses to pay the seller a part of the proceeds of the sale, the purchaser agrees that Antiquorum shall have all the rights of the seller in respect of the amount paid, whether by law or under these terms and conditions of sale.

4. TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP The transfer of ownership of the lot to the buyer takes place at the time of the auction. As soon as the auction has been pronounced (the bailiff’s hammer strike), all risks relating to the lot will be transferred in their entirety and without the slightest reservation..

5. COLLECTION AND SHIPMENT OF THE LOTS For purchasers who have chosen a collection point in Milan, the lots are available at Piazza Duomo n.21, Milan. An appointment must be made in advance.

General terms and conditions of sales An identity document will also be requested when the lot is handed over. Sold lots will be stored free of charge for a period of two months from the day of sale. After this date, Antiquorum may move the acquired lots to a storage site at the buyer’s risk and expense. For purchasers who have chosen a collection point in Hong Kong, the lots can be sent to the office of Antiquorum Auctioneer (HK) Ltd. in Hong Kong at the request and expense of the purchaser. For purchasers who have chosen an “other” collection point, the lots can be sent to the desired address according to the shipping instructions and at the purchaser’s expense. In the case of export outside Europe, this must be done no later than one month from the date of sale. Antiquorum must appear as sender on the export document and the buyer as consignee. The lots will only be delivered to the purchaser once the purchase price has been paid in full. Packing and shipping arrangements and the related costs are at the expense and risk of the purchaser. Once full payment has been made, Antiquorum may, as a service to the purchaser, arrange for the packaging, insurance and shipment of the lots purchased, on request and at the purchaser’s sole expense. In this case, the purchaser accepts all risks related to the packaging, handling and dispatch of the lots. Antiquorum will not be liable for any loss or damage caused to the lots on this occasion. Antiquorum cannot be held responsible for any non-payment by the buyer and is not liable for payment to the seller. Antiquorum is not responsible for and cannot guarantee the shipment of clocks, furniture, bulky and fragile objects or items considered as “dangerous goods”. Antiquorum will remove bracelets made from materials derived from endangered and / or protected species (i.e., in a non-exhaustive way, alligator, caiman, lizard, snake, shark, turtle, etc.) before shipping lots abroad. Buyers are responsible for compliance with all applicable export and import regulations. In addition, certain items made of materials subject to CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) legislation may be subject to import restrictions in some countries. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to consult their local customs authority for information on the importation of items made from these materials.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY – REPRODUCTION OF WORKS Antiquorum is the owners of the reproduction rights to its catalogue. Any reproduction of the latter is prohibited and constitutes an

infringement to its prejudice. In addition, Antiquorum has an exemption allowing them to reproduce in their catalogue the works offered for sale, even if the reproduction right has not fallen into the public domain. Any reproduction of the Antiquorum catalogue may therefore constitute an illicit reproduction of a work exposing its author to infringement proceedings by the holder of the rights to the work. The sale of a work shall not entail for the benefit of its owner the right of reproduction and presentation of the work

7. APPLICABLE LAW In the event of incompatibility of any In the event of incompatibility of any information or provision of the catalogue with these terms and conditions of sale, only the terms and conditions of sale shall be binding. Each of the provisions of these terms and conditions are independent of each other. The nullity of one provision shall not result in the nonapplicability of the others. The sale and the present general terms and conditions of sale are governed by Italian law. Any dispute falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of Italian courts.

The lots described in this catalogue have been carefully examined and valued by Antiquorum’s experts and watchmakers, taking into consideration the aesthetic, historical and technical interest, age and rarity, as well as the technology available at the time of production of each timepiece. For such judgment to be as objective as possible, it must rest on a number of criteria, particularly with regards to the age of a lot. Indeed, a wristwatch of less than 50 years old cannot be judged with the same criteria as a Renaissance watch. This is the reason why some of the gradings will only qualify for certain types of watches and will never be used for others. For example, if, as a general rule, watches can be attributed gradings from 1 to 4 for the case, the dial and the movement, watches of less than 100 years old can be given grading 1 (as new), 3 (in very good condition), or 4 (in good condition). The latter, (grading 4), will be followed by one or more grading numbers

Cl i en ts are re mind e d tha t a ll sta te me nts m ade i n th e Antiq uorum Gra d ing Syste m, in

to justify why the lot cannot be considered “in very good condition”. On the other hand, watches over 100 years old, of similar condition, would indeed be considered as “very good” because of their age and would therefore qualify for grading 3. Needless to say, watches over 100 years old, even in the best state of conservation for their age, are unlikely to ever be considered “as new” and would therefore never be eligible for grading 1; for this reason, we have introduced grading 2 (in perfect condition). At the end of each lot description, before the estimate, you will find a condition report box, with letters and numbers, divided into 3 sections: these are the grades given to the lot with reference to the condition of its case, its dial and hands, and its movement. To understand the grades shown in the condition report box, consult the Antiquorum Grading System as follows: C for the CASE, followed by one or more numbers = condition of case

D for the DIAL (& hands), followed by one or more numbers = condition of dial & hands

M for the MOVEMENT, followed by one or more numbers = condition of movement

Next to this condition report box, is an experts’ grading box featuring one letter, to B, as an overall grade. This from overall grade is the opinion of Antiquorum’s experts, as a global appreciation of the lot, based on its general condition, quality, technical and historical interest, age and rarity. On this basis, it must be understood that a very early timepiece, a prototype or a watch featuring a rare escapement, although it may be in a mediocre state of conservation, even re-cased or lacking its dial, can qualify . for gradings AAA or even To understand the grade shown in the experts’ grading box, consult the Experts’ Overall Opinion.
