Tech for Fun

From 2 to 5 p.m., the Bryant Library will hold a Tech for Fun class. Make an appointment with the Tech team to learn how to use Cricut’s design software Design Space to create your craft and other creative projects. The Tech staff will help you with your designs and print them using the Library’s Cricut Maker. The library can only provide some regular cardstock for your card design and printing. For other project such as t-shirts, mugs etc, you have to bring your own materials such as t-shirts, mugs, iron on vinyls. FRIDAY, APRIL 14

Knitting One-One

From 1 to 1:30 p.m. the library will host a knitting class. One of the Reference Librarians will teach you the basics of knitting: how to cast on, knit, purl, and will even help you “fix” some of those unruly stitches. Please bring your yarn and needles to the appointment. You must register in advance for this program. The library is at 2 Paper Mill Rd., Roslyn. Call 516-621-2240.

SATURDAY, APRIL 15

Craft Club

From 9:30 to 10:30, the library will host a fun morning to custom design a Tote Bag. The library will provide supplies. Patrons can only sign up for one session. Registration is required. The library is at 2 Paper Mill Rd., Roslyn. Call 516-621-2240.

MONDAY, APRIL 17

Teen Makerspace

From 4 to 5 p.m., the library is hosting a teen makerspace event. Make an appointment to use our 3Doodler Pen, Sphero Robot, Osmo Drawing Kit, Bloxels, or Button Machine.

TUESDAY APRIL 18

Poetic Heart

From 1 to 2:30 p.m., the library will host a “poetic heart” class. Explore a variety of art materials such as wood, acrylics, collage and words and create a beautiful decorative heart image with a poetic touch. Artist Deborah Adler will guide you in this art experience to create your own personalized art piece for your home or someone special. The library is at 2 Paper Mill Rd., Roslyn. Call 516-621-2240.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19

Dirt! Screening

At 1 p.m., the library will host a screening of Dirt! The movie is an insightful and timely film that tells the story of the glorious and unappreciated material beneath our feet. Inspired by William

Bryant Logan’s acclaimed book Dirt: The Ecstatic Skin of the Earth, Dirt! The movie takes a humorous and substantial look into the history and current state of the living organic matter that we come from and will later return to. The library is at 2 Paper Mill Rd., Roslyn. Call 516-621-2240.

Play Ball

There has been a Roslyn Softball ‘choose up’ game going on since the mid 1980’s, and its organizers are looking for a few good men. The choose up game is re-starting in early April in the Village of East Hills Park. Sunday double header games begin at 8:30 and end around noon. Docent Exhibition Tours Are Back

From Tuesday to Sunday, at 2 p.m., the Nassau County Museum of Art (NCMA) is on an hour-long tour of NCMA’s current exhibitions with a museum – trained docents. Share a memorable afternoon with other art lovers as you learn about an array of artists, their inspiration, artistic process, and their place in the history of art. Public tours are free with museum admission, and do not require tickets or reservations. The museum is at One Museum Drive, Roslyn Harbor. Call 516-484-9338.
