Festival, in turn appealing to the North Shore residents in the Town of Oyster Bay, as the town holds its annual Fall Festival on the South Shore.

Perhaps what may appeal to town residents the most is that the Spring Festival is free. All the activities, refreshments, prizes and other bonuses of the event are paid for by sponsors and the town.

“The Spring Festival is one of the Town of Oyster Bay’s most popular events,” said Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino. “Families and children of all ages look forward to celebrating the spring season with a wonderful day of fun in the sun at our beautiful Syosset-Woodbury Park. From the petting zoo to inflatables and games, the Spring Festival offers an activity for everyone. Together with my colleagues on the Town Board, we are proud to host free programs like this one for residents to enjoy.”

There were plenty of photo opportunities with backdrops made by Town of Oyster Bay employees, as well as characters like the pig, fox and the frog.

Registration Open For Helen Keller Services Long Island Summer Camp

July 10 to Aug. 11 at Long Island University CW Post Campus

Registration is open for the Helen Keller Services summer camp, “Camp Helen Keller,” a 5-week day camp experience for children age 7 to 14 who are blind or have low vision, being held this summer, from July 10 to August 11, 2023 at the Long Island University CW Post campus, located at 720 Northern Blvd, Greenvale, NY 11548.

Camp Helen Keller is a summer program created more than 60 years ago for children ages five to 15 who are blind or visually impaired. Its main goal is to improve participants’ self-esteem, self-confidence, and socialization skills for campers from Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens, who receive free door-to-door transportation.

Campers participate in traditional activities, such as swimming, arts and crafts, music and dance classes, and field trips and technology classes that have been adapted for visually impaired people. The camp is closed out annually with an inspiring variety show filled with singing, dancing and musical performances by the campers. by Long Island University

Camp counselors are committed to bringing their unique talents to the children. They are specially trained to adapt recreational and social activities to ensure each child’s experience is accessible. Camp memories are created along with lifetime friendships.
