Port Washington resident Jeff Stone has captured Port Washington’s spectacular and ever-changing sunsets on Manhasset Bay in more than 3,000 photos, over ten years, and during every season.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Stone shot four times more sunset photos than the previous five years combined. Residents anxiously awaited Stone’s nearly nightly posting of one gorgeous sunset photo after another.

Stone has amassed so many sunset photos that he recently had a book published entitled, Goodnight Port in which he shares his love of sunsets. It was difficult for him to cull down from the 3,000-plus sunset photos he has, but the book features over 170 sunset images that highlight the natural beauty and serenity of Manhasset Bay.

To showcase just a dozen of Jeff’s thousands of photos from his diverse portfolio, The Pride of Cow Bay Nautical Museum, which looks like a bright red tugboat located at the Town Dock, will present “Seasonal Sunsets of Manhasset Bay” by Jeff Stone. The exhibit celebrates the year-round beauty of Port Washington’s waters and skyline. Sponsored by Bayside Tax & Wealth, the exhibit will be unveiled on June 5 as part of the 30th HarborFest celebration.

Be sure to visit the exhibit while at HarborFest or afterwards. The exhibit will be on display until next year’s celebration, and is always “open” since the photos are viewed through the museum’s portholes and rear windows.

Everyone loves festivals and looks forward to having a tasty lunch or snack at the food booths. HarborFest’s Fabulous Food Court does not disappoint! This year you can look forward to wonderful and diverse selections brought to you by Port’s own restaurants and organizations.

Ivory Kitchen, Margarita’s Café and Waterzooi will debut at HarborFest with delicious food you don’t usually find at festivals. Ayhan’s Shish Kebab will be back with their famous Mediterranean specialties. The Wild Goose will return to HarborFest with perfect lobster rolls. Yummy Gyro will cook up tasty tacos and grilled corn. Long Island Festival Catering will offer steak sandwiches, French fries and other popular festival food. Rosie’s Food Truck will return with gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. The Manhasset Bay Sportsmen’s Club will be offering tasty shrimp cocktail and “pickles on a stick.”

In addition to lunch, there are options for dessert and treats at HarborFest. Ralph’s Italian Ices will return with ice cold treats in many flavors. In addition, Mel’s Ice Cream Truck will return to Sunset Park, near the Art in the Park Tent.

If you have ever been to HarborFest, you know the Food Court is unique among festivals because it offers both quality and diversity. If you are looking for a gourmet lunch or snack on the waterfront of beautiful Manhasset Bay, HarborFest is the place to be!

The Port Washington Chamber of Commerce has lined up a Food Court that is sure to please everyone. Whether your taste runs to traditional festival food or to more unique cuisine, bring your appetite and get ready to feast all day at HarborFest on June 5! —Submitted by the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce
