BLACK associations
Black absorbs all light in the color spectrum. It’s often used as a symbol of menace or evil, but it’s also popular as an indicator of power. It’s used to represent treacherous characters.
It is associated with death and mourning in many cultures and also with unhappiness, sexuality, formality, and sophistication. In ancient Egypt, black represented life and rebirth.

sensation
Color is a powerful communication tool and can be used to signal action, influence mood, and even influence physiological reactions. Certain colors have been associated with increased blood pressure and increased metabolim. Your feelings about color are often deeply personal and rooted in your own experience or culture. As the strongest of all colours, black is often used only sparingly – such as for text – but it works quite well as a primary colour element (like for backgrounds). Much like purple, black adds an air of sophistication and elegance, and also mystery, though with much bolder confidence.

12 The nighttime sky on Earth is black because the part of Earth experiencing night is facing away from the Sun, the light of the Sun is blocked by Earth itself, and there is no other bright nighttime source of light in the vicinity. Thus, there is not enough light to undergo
Rayleigh scattering and make the sky blue. On the Moon, on the other hand, because there is no atmosphere to scatter the light, the sky is black both day and night. This phenomenon also holds true for other locations without an atmosphere.

The color Black Is black a color? Ask a scientist and you'll get a reply based on physics: "Black is not a color". Ask an artist and you'll get another: "Black is a color.".
Black is the darkest color, the result of the absence or complete absorption of visible light. It is an achromatic color, literally a color without hue, like white and gray. Black ink is the most common color used for printing books, newspapers and documents, because it has the highest contrast with white paper and is the easiest to read. For the same reason, black text on a white screen is the most common format used on computer screens. In color printing it is used along with the subtractive primaries cyan, yellow, and magenta, in order to help produce the darkest colors. In the visible spectrum, black is the absorption of all colors. Black can be defined as the visual impression experienced when no visible light reaches the eye. Pigments or dyes that

absorb light rather than reflect it back to the eye "look black". A black pigment can, however, result from a combination of several pigments that collectively absorb all colors. If appropriate proportions of three primary pigments are mixed, the result reflects so little light as to be called "black". This provides two superficially opposite but actually complementary descriptions of black. Black is the absorption of all colors of light, or an exhaustive combination of multiple colors of pigment. Combine all three primary colors (red yellow and blue) using a liquid paint or you even food coloring. You won't get a jet black, but the point will be clear. The history of black pigments includes charcoal, iron metals, and other chemicals as the source of black paints.
Black is the absence of color (and is therefore not a color). Indee when there is no light, everything is black. Test this out by going into a photographic dark room. There are no photons of light. In other words, there are no photons of colors. A black hole is a region of spacetime where gravity prevents anything, including light, from escaping. The theory of general relativity predicts that a sufficiently compact mass will deform spacetime to form a black hole. Around a black hole there is a mathematically defined surface called an event horizon that marks the point of no return. It is called "black" because it absorbs all the light that hits the horizon, reflecting nothing, just like a perfect black body in thermodynamics.Black holes of stellar mass are expected to form when very massive stars collapse at the end of their life cycle. After a black hole has formed it can continue to grow by absorbing mass from its surroundings. By absorbing other stars and merging with other black holes, supermassive black holes of millions of solar masses may form. There is general consensus that supermassive black holes exist in the centers of most galaxies. Although a black hole itself is black, infalling material forms an accretion disk, which is one of brightest types of object in the universe. Black-body radiation refers to the radiation coming from a body at a given temperature where all incoming energy (light) is converted to heat. Black sky refers to the appearance of space as one emerges from Earth's atmosphere.

The Roccia Nera (Italian for Black Rock, French: Rocher noir, German: Schwarzfluh) is a peak of the Breithorn range in the Pennine Alps, on the boundary between the Aosta Valley (northern Italy) and canton of Valais (southern Switzerland). It is the easternmost summit of the Breithorn massif, located east of the Gendarm (or eastern Breithorn Twin). It overlooks the Schwarztor (English: Black Gate) pass on its east side.

BLACK CATS Definition: A black cat is a domestic cat with black fur that may be a mixed or specific breed.
Breeds: The Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) recognizes 22 cat breeds that can come with solid black coats. The Bombay breed is exclusively black.
Features: All-black fur pigmentation is slightly more prevalent in male cats than female cats. Their high melanin pigment content causes most black cats to have yellow (golden) eyes (irises).

Forget the stereotypical depiction of the perpetually single cat lady. In some parts of the world, it’s believed that black cats can actually improve your love life. In the English Midlands, black cats were traditionally given as wedding gifts to bring happiness to the bride. And in Japan, single women who own black cats and thought to be more attractive.
A black cat arriving at your doorstep signals prosperity (a common belief in Scotland) and a black cat crossing your path signals good luck (in England and Ireland).
Researches
Researchers at the National Institutes of Health discovered that the genetic mutations that cause cats to have black coats may offer them some protection from diseases. In fact, the mutations affect the same genes that offer HIV resistance to humans. Since cats can experience many of the same health issues as we do, they make purrfect models for studying human disease. By figuring out how cats have evolved to resist diseases, researchers can, potentially, learn how to prevent disease in humans as well.

Black is the color most commonly associated with ELEGANCE. When it comes to clothing, black was ranked as the number one favorite color for both genders combined. Interestingly, black got first place because 40 percent of the females chose black as number one.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BLACK FOR CONTRAST
In art and photography, contrast is the difference between dark and light colors or dark and light areas. Contrast, as it pertains to imagery, is the difference between the brightest brights, the whitest whites, the darkest darks, and the blackest blacks. If there are more visible details in an image, then it’s considered low contrast. If there are less visible details, then it’s high contrast.

‘The Invisible Black Backdrop’ Black is also a very versatile color that will complement almost any subject, but instead of evoking a clean and pure feeling, a black background implies a completely different story.
The power of the black background
With a black background there is a sense of mystery or even danger in whatever you are photographing. For example, a newborn baby would not typically sit well upon a black background, but a female model going for a dark, sexy appeal would fit well.
Just because a color matches doesn’t mean it is the right choice for a seamless background.

make a room appear to shrink in size. The color black affects the mind and body by helping to create an inconspicuous feeling, boosting confidence in appearance, increasing the sense of potential and possibility, or producing feelings of emptiness, gloom, or sadness. In western countries black is the color of mourning, death, and sadness. Black often represents the emotions and actions of rebellion in teenagers and youth. The color black can represent both the positive and the negative. As the opposite of white, movies, books, print media, and television typically depict the good guy in white and the bad guy in black. In more recent times, the good guy is shown in black to create mystery around the character’s identity. There are other meanings associated with the color black and many are the shades of it (ebony, jet, ink, lampblack, midnight, etc).
