Extension of Sir John Soane’s museum
Project description: This year long project was about designing a major addition to an existing heritage building in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London. The John Soane’s museum is an extremely important building and a project like this requires deep research on Soane and the building itself, as well as, careful design. Very important was the role of preservation. The extension should occurred in numbers 15th and 16th. The brief was relatively free to every student. However, one thing that should be included was a cenotaph dedicated to Soane.

These negative volumetric models of various interior spaces inside the museum were made as a group model out of plaster. The scale that was used was 1:50 and the models could combined together to form a big group model representing some major parts of the museum.

There were many things to consider when designing an extension of a historic, important and complex building like this museum.The area of central London was important fact, too.The connections and the relation between new and old were the primal concerns. Moreover, the courtyards played a major role in the design. The character, shape and concepts of the building should get special attention. Also, the environmental part was key to a successful design. Light should penetrate towards the north side and the basement. Mass in south parts should be reduced to allow light to access the north areas easily. Glazing should carefully been placed and skylights been used. Good ventilation and temperature should achieved as well.

The new structure should work effectively with the existing. Foundations, wall openings or the connections between old and new should be explained and studied in detail. The materials that were used should maintain the character of the museum and been chosen wisely.

2^S House is a private residence (555m ) located in Nicosia,Cyprus and designed in 2016. It consists of two floors and accommodates two bedrooms, one master bedroom ensuite with walk in closet, a bathroom, living/ dining room, kitchen, playroom, BBQ area, garden, covered veranda and parking spaces. It gives emphasis on the relationship between indoor/outdoor and build/free spaces. The design is modern and minimal with a variety of materials and colours. My work for this project was mainly on 2D drawings, including plans, elevations and constructive drawings. 2

BROOK House is a private residence (1060m2) located in Nicosia, Cyprus. It consists of one floor with two bedrooms, one master bedroom en-suite with walk in closet, bathroom, living/dining room, kitchen, office, BBQ area, garden, pool, covered veranda and parking spaces. The spaces are placed around a private garden in the core of the house. The public and living spaces are placed facing south along with the landscape and the pool. Interesting is the relation between green spaces and build space. The design is modern and minimal with different materials. My work for this project includes 2D drawings, constructive details, landscape design, 1:100 model, 3D design and meetings with clients.

MOGE House is a private residence (576m2) located in Nicosia, Cyprus. It consists of two floors. The ground floor accommodates kitchen, living/dining room, office, garage, covered veranda, BBQ area and pool. The first floor has two bedrooms, one master bedroom en-suite with closet and a bathroom. The design is modern and minimal. It focuses more on the relationship with the adjacent plots, the orientation and the views mainly towards the garden/pool. My work for this project has a variety of tasks including concept design,architectural drawings (plans, sections, elevations, axonometric), structural drawings, presentation booklet, meetings with clients and other drawings for building permit.

MAP Boutique Hotel is a commercial building (887m2) located in central Nicosia, Cyprus. It consists of five floors with basement and includes 27 guest rooms en-suite, lobby, office, storages, restrooms, balconies, green spaces, fitness center, massage room, restaurant/bar, kitchen, covered veranda, terrace and sitting areas. It is a refurbishment and conversion of a building previously used to offices.The main aim is to create fresh spaces and a relaxing atmosphere. The theme around the design of the quest rooms is popular cities. My work for this project includes design for the layout, spaces and quest rooms, plans, 3D modelling, presentation booklet, site and existing building analysis.

MAP Boutique Hotel
The design of the hotel effectively involves integrating the various aspects of hotel operations in order to minimize interference with one another. The aim is to design a contemporary fresh space that avoids guests being inundated with excessive noise and gives them a unique relaxing experience. It has been designed from the inside-out to ensure the practical functionality and relationship of its parts. The vertical double facade creates the balconies that have a panoramic view of the city.The green wall on the facade provides each room with privacy and offers a relaxing outdoor area. The Hotel has been designed to support the comfort of its guests for work, rest and relaxation. The design scope extends beyond basic interior design to include the branding theme and graphics, custom furniture and commissioned lighting selection.

Third floor plan 1:100 MAP’s hotel fitness center is located on the third floor. A small fitness center with a dynamic interior design and a glazed facade to Nicosia’s city center. The extensive use of mirrors provide a double reading of the space where the skyline of Nicosia merges with the internal space.

MAP Boutique Hotel
The Brunch and Bar of MAP hotel is a uniquely designed area on the fourth floor of the Hotel. The space layout gives an urban style and creates a contemporary but still luxurious common area for the guests as well as the locals. The plants and green elements placed in the interior provide a fresh and relaxing atmosphere. The panoramic view it provides is the best one can find in Nicosia city.The indoor area extends outdoors and, due to Cyprus warm weather, when fully open, the space can be used as one open plan outdoor cover space with bench tables and lounge sofa areas. The bar and walls have been customized to the concept of the hotel and the materials used emphasize a new state of mind of Brunch and Bar locals in the city.

Each room has a different concept design, a theme common to the world’s biggest city MAPs. Each room has a specific name based on the local design of the city it is hosting, allowing the guests to relate themselves to the rooms custom design and experience the diversity of the world through all hotel spaces. The spacious rooms at MAP Hotel are tastefully designed with minimal lines luxurious materials and special lighting features giving the tranquility and relaxing ambience of a high standard hotel. All 27 rooms feature a spacious work area, big storage space and most of them a private balcony.The luxurious bathrooms are appointed with high-quality amenities for the guest’s comfort.

Projects description: A mix of work and drawings for various other projects. Most of them are new private residences mainly located in Nicosia, Cyprus with similar modern and minimal design with the rest. Exceptions are: - A demolition, renovation and extension of an old house in the mountain village of Pedoulas, Nicosia, Cyprus. - A renovation of new offices in three different floors located in Limassol, Cyprus. - A demolition and extension of an existing residence in Nicosia, Cyprus. My work for this projects includes architectural, technical, constructional and conceptual drawings. 3D modelling, design, presentations, meetings, building and planning permits, site visits, various detailed drawings, building regulations and environmental analysis.
