UNIFYING

India is a culturally varied country with a broad range of customs, languages, and art forms associated with various regions and communities. Culture can be defined as the way of life of a particular people. It represents their values, goals, practices and shared beliefs. Culture-related activities such as music, art, dance, drama, etc. are powerful tools for urban redevelopment and revitalisation. Thus, culture should not only be preserved, but should also be given an ideal platform to flourish and spread.

LBS PG College is one of the oldest and renowned co-educational colleges in Jaipur. It is known for its rich historical legacy and remarkable contribution in the field of higher education. The institute is located in Tilak Nagar, Raja Park which is one of the most prominent areas of Jaipur city. It came into existence in 1963 but got its formal configu ration in 1967 as Lal Bahadur Shastri College under the aegis of Bharat Sewak Shiksha Samiti (BSSS).The proposed land has been divided into two parts i.e. college and commu nity center. Purpose of having a community center along with the college was to earn some revenue out of it which could be used to improve the infrastructure requirement of the Theinstitute.siteis located in Raja Park which was planned to accommodate the refugees in the early 1950’s that migrated from Pakistan. It has witnessed dense mixed use evelopment over the years and has a very vibrant char acter due to commercial activities and street food vendors. Raja Park area is undergoing transformation in the past few decades from a residential land use to mixed land use. Therefore, Bharat Sewak Shiksha Samiti wants to upgrade the infrastructure of college and community cen ter with an aim to meet the demands of pres ent globalized scenario. The college offers UG & PG courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, Computers and Library which requires high class infrastructure for classrooms, seminar halls, labs and other facilities for the students. Along with the college the design for com munity center gives an opportunity to resolve urban level issues that prevail in the area with addition of other recreational activities like gymnasium, clubs etc. that can help in gener ating some revenue for the organization. Raja Park has a very complex urban structure with issues like congestion due lack of desig nated parking facility and no planned vending zones. IX Sem Studio.

Urban Bunglow

In the present urban scenario and with rising land value the pattern adopted in densified city areas is that of efficiently planning and designing residential and professional space on the same land. The design is subjective to the functional and spatial requirements as the users have both residential and professional units reside there. The brief required a residence for a Families dwell there have a profession of Doctor, Fashion designer, Industrial designer, Yoga practitioner, Musician, and Singer, who aspired for a contemporary home that housed not only living units but also works and entertainment zones spread accross different levels. At the same time, they desired landscapes zones that could interconnect with all spaces . Establishing a relation between modern architecture, environment and sensitivity towards the socio-cultural context is the basis of design. Setup in the urban outfit, the site to it’s fortune relished the view of the opposite garden. The design approach keeps the nature at its core. It occupies a significant place in the process by planning well configured spaces that ensure the house gets to breathe in the urban cluster. Natural light and ventillation were introduced by opening up the North face of the house and punching a courtyard serves to Master Bedrooms and living rooms at different levels. The basement level serves as for Pool and Yoga. At ground level Parking, Drs. Clinic, Motor garage. On the first floor their is an Designer studio and Family Dining and gathering. Above that all floor levels serves to Resindence of Family as per their need. The Terrace serve to be an Landscape to that help to interconnect with nature.
