BIOGRAPHY I’m a 22 year old architecture student, currently in fourth year. As a young architecture student I am always keen on learning new skills that will improve my design abilities. Architecture for me personally is to design a space and a place for people. A place and space that is not a box, but ‘’out of the box’’. I look forward to learn and develop my skills and knowledge, both in designing and representation.

Orientation of the building: it should be such that the non habitat rooms can be located on outer faces to act as thermal barrier. Longer walls to be build on south and north face so the building gets minimum solar exposure. Preferably the kitchen should be located on the leeward side of the building to avoid circulation of hot air and smell from the kitchen. Windows and openings in walls: Windows and large openings to be provided on northern and western faces as light coming from north is always diffused and indirect.

The e-cycles are not only introducing a new segment of lifestyle products in the two-wheeler transport market but promoting electric mobility as well. The e-cycles are becoming the face of urban commuting, more convenient than conventional bicycles
I N TV EI RE I W O R
Electric rickshaws (also known as electric tuk-tuks or e-rickshaws or toto or e-tricycles) have been becoming more popular in some cities since 2008 as an alternative to auto rickshaws and pulled rickshaws because of their low fuel cost, and less human effort compared to pulled rickshaws.

BUS TERMINAL
ANNUAL NASA DESIGN COMPETITION
The following brief has posed a challenge upon us that asks us to create a secure and cautious space as a bus terminus. On a broader perspective the solution should keep up with our rudiments, a post pandemic situation a user friendly. environment and without doubt should be able to hinder the current rife.
HARIHAR AS SITE
The choosen site of Harihar is a substantial example of such a geographically and economically eminent pillar of the home to numerous industries which includes renowed names such as Aditya birla and kirlosker. Adding to these it houses several prime educational institutes which are flocked by the students of 76 villages Harihar is surrounded with.

INTRODUCTION TO SITE
STREET DESIGN
STREET FOR PEOPLE CHALLENGE
Known for its flourishing retail Koppikar road is found to be one of the most busiest streets with heavy traffic. Over the years brands have established their enclave on the streets of Koppikar road. Furthermore the dominion of the Durgad Bail road is held by the vendors of the eat street. The site is well trodden by customers and vendors. The zest of the site is lost amidst the bottleneck traffic and pedestrians which create a havoc because of haphazard roadways.

Provision has been provided for the blind and visually impaired by installing tactile paving to guide their way. LED pavement lights have been provided near the zebra crossing to ensure pedestrian safety especilly during the night. Here the pesdestrians can signal the fast moving vehicle to slow down and stop as they cross the road.

PLAN
Located in an alleyway, eat street is found be one of the liveliest zones in Durgad bail in the evenings, although it still functions to provide it is found to be chaotic. The design provides wider pedestrians ways, facility for sitting, green spaces and an arrangement such that the vendors inevitably stand at a distance in case of pandemic situations.

KOPPIKAR ROAD
CONCEPTUAL
PROPOSED DESIGN
Roads are found to have the required widths, but poor planning and the design of 30° or 90° parking on the side of the roads bring about congested roads which in turn cause traffic. The turning radius required for cars to depart also creates a mayhem on the roadside. Thus, the design proposes parallel parking across the road in order to use the road width to its full potential. Parallel parking also provides easy parking and requires smaller radius for departing.
INTERSECTION AT UMALL CROSS
CURRENT CONDITION
SHIVAJI CHOWK
CONCEPTUAL
PROPOSED DESIGN
The intersections of roads lack elements that promote a safe flow of traffic. Roundabouts tend to maintain a sense of direction and unlike traffic lights which slow down the vehicles, roundabouts tend to yield the flow, such that the intersections can handle more traffic in the same amount of time. The slower speeds of vehicles facilitate smoother and safer traffic flows and the presence of roundabout reduces accidents to about 75% due to slower speeds.

Pedestrian islands have been provided and designated for foot traffic it also slows down the traffic leading into a narrow road reminding the drivers of the pedestrians. Pedestrian island thus proves to be vital for maintaining the order and safety of roads.

DURGAD BAIL
HI, I AM CHITRA DEVI. I SELL IDLI-VADA IN KHAO GALLI. I’VE BEEN A STREET VENDOR HERE FOR 7 YEARS. AS FAR AS MY WORK AND INCOME IN CONCERN I LIKE TO WORK HERE. BUT THE WEATHER CONDITIONS DURNG SUMMER DO NOT MAKE MY JOB EASY. TO COOK IN HARSH CLIMATES LIKE THESE IS A TASK AND I WISH FOR BETTER SURROUNDING CONDITIONS WHICH PROVIDE SHADE FOR OUR COMFORT AND EASE.
IDEA BEHIND SEATING AREA HI, I AM MAHESH VERMA. I OWN A RETAIL STORE IN KOPPIKAR ROAD AND THUS THIS IS MY DAILY COMMUTE ROAD. KOPPIKAR ROAD IS GREAT FOR MY BUISNESS. DURING THE PEAK HOURS IT IS INFU-RIATING TO DEAL WITH TRAFFIC, THE MAJOR CAUSE OF THE TRAFFIC IS THE INCONSIDERATE PROVISION FOR PARKING WHICH CREATES CHAOS.
HI, I AM RAMAPPA. MOST OF THE SHOPS HIRE MY TRUCK FOR THE DELIVERY OF THEIR GOODS. THE TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD, THE ENGAGED ROADS AND THE UNAVALIBILITY OF PARKING FOR TRUCKS FORCE US TO PARK ON THE ROAD FOR LOADING AND UNLOADING, THIS CREATES HAVOC ON THE ROAD SIDE AND MAKES IT TOUGHER FOR ME TO LOAD AND UNOAD THE GOODS.

CURRENT CONDITION
DURGAD BAIL Vehicular and pedestrian movement has been differentiated and provides across the vendors, wherein the passengers in the vehicles get access to the vendors on one side and the pedestrians on the other side. The pedestrian lane is divided by landscaping and a green space, where the trees have huge canopies providing shade to the space. A social interaction space has been designed utilizing the neg-

INTERNATIONAL HOUSING COMPETITION
CONCEPT AIMThe aim of the competition is to address the unmet student housing demand in India through an innovative architectural solution. The challenge is to design a student housing community for 140 student occupants with all shared amenities. The community needs to have studio, double occupancy & four sharing units with all state of the art facilities. The design should become the “REFERENCE PROJECT” for Student Housing in India. India is considered as a education hub in the Asia-pacific region. There is also a student influx from African nations & also from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, South Korea, Japan, China, France, Germany & USA. The student mobility in India, both internationally & intra-nationally is expected to rise in the coming years.
