Anuschka often hires economically challenged young adults, armed with a basic sense of art and a keen eagerness to learn the trade. They are taught the intricacies of painting on leather in the family’s workshop. Over the years, these skills empower them to support their families and educate their children. Every piece of soft, supple leather is hand selected and and stitched then we hand paint it. The bag has a journey of about 45 days till complete. Our process and attention to detail is what set us apart from other brands who print on leather. Introducing T H E V E G ETA B L E TA N C O L L E C T I O N Vegetable tanning is an intricate, traditional method of tanning leather dating back to approximately 6000 BC. It’s an organic method relying on natural vegetable tannins from bark or other plant tissues. Vegetable tanning is a time-consuming process requiring highly skilled craftsmen. This tanning is better for our environment and also gives us the ability to explore new forms of wearable art by incorporating embroidery and tooling along with our classic hand paintings The resulting collection is a line of more structured leather bags, with specially designed artwork. We still use our premium top grain leather and you will see the natural marks of the leather that makes every piece unique. We hope you will enjoy these leathers and the resulting masterpieces as much as we enjoyed crafting them for you.
